It was the most fun I’ve had watching a movie in a good while, especially since I managed to be unspoiled about most of the cameos, outside of reading a tweet last night by one of the actors thanking Reynolds for the support. The cameos completely fit with what’s been established with the Void and the TVA in Loki, and it’s cool that they’re actually doing something with the rights to the older, “non-Sacred Timeline” movies. It’s kind of amazing how Jackman went from an unknown to a guy it’s going to be extremely difficult to ever recast. Yeah, Hugh Jackman is Wolverine. He's on the Mount Rushmore of CBM casting either all heroes or one mixing heroes with villains.

The Natural Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Deadpool really is Marvel Jesus. You know there's a line of money trucks for Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy to do Deadpool and Wolverine 2.

If that were to happen, I'd love to see a return of Cable and Domino, Cable at the very least. Cable, Wolverine and Deadpool all have contrasting personalities, so it would be fun to see them play off of one another. 3
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 10, 2024 Author Posted August 10, 2024 RDJ reportedly turned down a cameo in this. The scene where Happy and Deadpool meet was supposed to start with the two of them. (The producers also apparently had no idea he was going to be revealed as Dr Doom.)

just drew Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 I loved it. I don't know how to use spoiler tags, so I'll refrain from further comment for now. My one critique would be that it felt like Deadpool was reminding us that it was a movie a little too much. I like the 4th wall breaks, but maybe not every 45 seconds. 3

Curt McGirt Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 I wonder if Harmony Korine had to meet with Madonna to use it in Gummo *snicker* (That soundtrack is awesome, btw. Bethlehem, Mystifier? You can tell that Spider from Metal Maniacs made that tracklist.)
twiztor Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 DP&W has surpassed $1B at the box office. currently sitting at #48 on the all time list 3
NikoBaltimore Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 (edited) After trying to setup a double date to no avail all this time my wife and I said screw it and saw the movie last Saturday. I mean we did try but I'll just watch it one day with him and pretend to be surprised. But anyway the movie was lots of fun though BP's point below sticks with me 6 days after. On 7/29/2024 at 10:24 AM, (BP) said: The Scorsese theme park ride analogy has never felt more appropriate; I had a fine time, but the movie was already leaving my brain as I was exiting the theater. I personally had a great time and it's one of things best enjoyed in a theater. People were laughing, geeking out and having a grand time. Spoiler When Deadpool got the golden guns a lady in front screamed "Oh, hell yeah baby!" which cracked us the fuck up. And when Blade mentioned he's the only Blade I'm pumping my fist in the air thinking "Fuck yeah, motherfucker!" Thankfully we were all the way in the back but Wesley is the only Blade that matters to me. I'm not sure if I would have reacted the same while watching at home but something about a theater experience just adds to the fun. I think on rewatch even if it might not be as funny or surprising I'm hoping to at least see things again that will actually stick with me. But aside from Blade I was happy to see Channing as Gambit (though not nearly as happy as my wife but I digress) and while the Sony movies weren't my cup of tea from what I saw it's great that this movie showed them tons of love. And while there were tons of songs being used the one that hit he most was the not-so-dynamic duo beating up fools while "Like a Prayer" was playing. Movie or not that song is really, really great and I was happy to hear it throughout all this. But one thing that 15-year-old me would fucking hate me for is the fact that I was grooving to "Bye, bye, bye" in the opener. I guess that's nostalgia for ya but that scene's been stuck in head ever since Saturday. And if I heard right the song was apparently number 45 in the top 100 so that's great for them. just drew Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 (edited) Spoiler HOLY SHIT THE CAMEOS. "There's only one Blade. There's only ever gonna be one Blade." Deadpool takes to the camera. Amazing. The Daredevil/Elektra joke. "I'm sorry he died." "It's okay." Channing Tatum doing his best Bobby Boucher. I was here for ALL OF IT. I spoiled the whole bitch just so no one gets upset. NikoBaltimore Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Shit, my bad. I was so excited to post I didn't think to check if we had to do spoilers or not. But I put them in there just in case. One thing I will say is I ended up re-watching this with a friend. Granted the jokes got mild chuckles out of me this time and cameos were not a surprise. But that worked out better as it made me realize this was my favorite Deadpool of the bunch. Despite the jokes and such the main theme of this was redemption for both characters and I think it paid off really well. And I'll be damned if the scene with the choir version of "Like a Prayer" wasn't incredibly moving because that shit stuck with me long after the movie ended. I'll need to re-watch the two before but I feel unlike those this one wasn't as self-contained and leads very well to Deadpool's future in the MCU. I didn't think I would like this a lot more on re-watch but in the end I did. 2

This felt like the third Austin Powers movie where if you enjoyed the first two you'll enjoy it but it is a step down. I watched Blade the series over the pandemic so I got a chuckle out of Snipes line ( reminds me of his line about being in jail in the expendables) I did get a little lost with all the MCU stuff so Im wikipediaing that stuff, although I did see Logan a few years ago so I understood that stuff thankfully Some cool videos on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nY5IAhjTclY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FERCM9mxXt0
NoFistsJustFlips Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 Caught this at the theater yesterday and absolutely loved it. Shocked to see such middling reactions in here. Lots of fun cameos. A fun story riffing on all the multiversity junk. Brutal action scenes with great fight choreography. Reynolds & Jackman played off each other perfectly. Thought this one was just as good as the other Deapool movies and not a step down at all. Lots of heart with Wolverine's story too. Jackman's performance really elevated it above a normal comic book movie for me. I have it in the top tier of comic book movies. Not the very top. But not far off either. 5

Same here: Spoiler Deadpool mistaking the Human Torch for Captain America: Deadpool: "Oh my God, he's going to say it!" 'Avengers..." Human Torch: "Flame on!" Deadpool: "Sorry, what now?" Enjoyed seeing Chris Evans back as the Human Torch, that was always spot on casting. Testament to Evans he can play two totally different characters in the Human Torch and Captain America so well. 2
JonnyLaw Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 FTR, when I made the reference in the main Marvel thread to Chris Evans playing two different characters in response to RDJ playing Doom, I had no idea about this cameo. 1 4

The Natural Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Give us an Old Man Blade film with Wesley Snipes or a Deadpool and Wolverine and Blade film. Be fun to get straight man Blade bouncing off a cranky Wolverine and a wiseass Deadpool. 1
