With the premieres of Transformers and Strays tomorrow, today is theeeeee absolute last day for anyone else to enter the pool!

Do I get a redo like The Fairly OddParents?

😉.

I swear I just saw a Strays ad on NBA finals game one or two. And that doesn't seem like the kind of movie they'd be running TV spots for months out like Flash or Oppenheimer, so that seems like quite the sudden bump.

Not that I'd be bullish about the R-rated raunchy dog comedy with no visible movie stars regardless, but it probably stands a better chance in August.

When I heard Transformers beat out Spider-Man this past weekend at the box office, I was pretty surprised. But now that I'm looking at the numbers, I guess it was a first weekend vs. second weekend thing. Spider-Man is still on pace to be our #1 movie for box office, and Transformers is earning less than any other movie so far.

Fuck.  There is a possibility that this might be good.

There goes my ballot if it is.

It already gets cool points for using a track from A Tribe Called Quest in the trailer.

From the WOM I've seen it is. I didn't feel confident ranking it so left it out.

I have surged too soon.  I will be in 8th place at best by the time the contest is done.

The Flash opening lower than Black Adam is very funny to every part of me except the part that lives in this thread.

Yeah, I didn't expect that The Flash would have a lower opening than Black Adam. I think it's because of the Ezra Miller situation alongside the DCEU In its death throws getting replaced by the already announced DCU.

Tomorrow's update is going to be late, like maybe shortly after Rampage finishes

Good.  I prefer my bad news later as opposed to sooner.  If I remain anywhere near the top of the heap after the new rankings are posted, I'll be shocked.

Applebees using ELO's "Don't Bring Me Down" to promote Indiana Jones & The Dial of Destiny is the most ironic advertising campaign I can recall in recent memory
