Connor McDavid did Connor McDavid things last night. 5 assists and just completely dominant. He had an end-to-end rush that ended in a spinorama that led to a goal that was just... wow.

A lot of it has to do with how much Boone gets tossed and that umps go in looking for excuses to toss Boone. That's one thing. The bigger issue is how fucking thin-skinned Umps (and a lot of other officials) are and how quick to pull the trigger, and that THERES NO RECOURSE FROM TEAMS for bad calls and no accountability for Umps or most other sports officials for making bad calls. This is all over NY sports, but what recourse is there for the Yankees? Call Manfred? He's not going to do anything, nor is the Umpire union. Shit, Wendelstedt RUNS AN UMP SCHOOL. Hernendez has the most inconsistant strike zone in Baseball and he's beloved in the Union so they're not going to toss him. We're probably in for a couple weeks of people getting seats above the team they don't link's Dugout and barking trying to get people tossed.

It's just crazy how the Marvel franchise had five films lay the groundwork for Avengers, four-ish years of releases to build up a universe that then kept on going, and a bunch of suits concerned with nothing but the next quarter directed DC to just jump from a Superman movie to "Dawn of Justice" with no separate films in between. They saw the blueprint right there but ignored it, ostensibly because that would take too long. "Marvel/Disney have that and it's making all that money!? Why don't we have that! Go do it!" It's like telling my kid to go build me a new car because my neighbor has one. They had 8 years and 21 films to build on before they joined the shared monsterverse.

He used the name in TNA/Impact recently, so he must've had the rights to it. He did a match or a couple there, too. He was on one of the last Bloodsport shows, as well. So, I think he can at least work a little.

The battle royal was probably one of the better ones they've done. Lots of nice spots, especially Chelsea's initial fake out lol Becky winning was no surprise, but why do I have this vision of Liv eventually beating her, aligning with Dom, and then having to deal with a returning face Rhea? lol

Unless I mis-read it, I don't think he's back. To add a real life element to it, I know someone that last summer had unfortunately a very similar injury to Adam Cole, to the point he had to go in for a second surgery it was so messed up. Today he is walking just fine, if you met him you wouldn't know his ankle was fucked, but he still can't even run, let alone jump off a turnbuckle and land on it. He said he's still at least a few months away from doing anything more than walking around as there is just more healing it needs to do. Now everyone heals different and no two injuries are the same so I'm not saying its a 1:1 to Cole, but I read it as "he's well enough to appear at shows again to further storylines" not "he's healed and will be able to wrestle in a month." I could be wrong, my IRL example may be clouding my interpretation, but I saw it more as a positive step than a sign he's close to an in-ring return. I mean while everyone else jumped on the apron, Cole carefully went up the stairs, I'd be shocked if he's wrestling by Wembley still.

I might end up re-watching this match sooner than anticipated. A lot's been said about the match but I never considered the crowd's part in this. I mean how can you not go batshit insane watching this? Yet your reasoning for the crowd missing out on something makes perfect sense. I know I was losing my mind at all that was going on and maybe missed out too. Maybe that's why the ending felt like a shock to me and snapped me out of the euphoria I was feeling. It's something to think about and thanks for that awesome write-up.
