GojiColin Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Happy Halloween! It's time for a Trick or Treat edition of The Top of the Bottom! Let's see who's getting a nice treat and who will be throwing sideline tantrums! #1 Jacksonville Jaguars 0-8 #2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-7 #3 Minnesota Vikings 1-6 #4 New York Giants 2-6 #5 Huston Texans 2-5 #6 Pittsburgh Steelers 2-5 #7 Washington Redskins 2-5 #8 Atlanta Falcons 2-5 #9 Buffalo Bills 3-5 #10 Cleveland Browns 3-5 Teams Dropping out of the Top 10: Oakland First we must bid a fond adieu to the Raiders, who plummeted off the chart with a win over the weekend. But as one team leaves, one must arrive; so welcome to the list Cleveland!. The Browns enter in at the bottom of the list, but at only 3 games back they have a chance to make up for Brian Hoyer's winning ways. Outside of that not much excitement other then Minnesota climbing up into the top three after the Giants fail to lose to the Eagles. It should be noted though that there are a handful of teams breathing down the necks of the ninth and tenth place teams; mere percentage points separate them! Will we see massive shakeups coming? Will there be a new #1? Tune in next week to find out! But for now Jacksonville keeps their stranglehold on The Top of the Bottom!
pipGofern Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 To continue the theme of NFL players dressing up for Halloween, Christian Ponder wins the day by first having great taste in movies (ie The Sandlot) and second convincing his hot wife, Samantha Steele, to dress up like Wendy Peffercorn, star of the most puberty-inducing pool scene since Phoebe Cates in Fast Times. Ponder is truly the epitome of the saying, "Sucks At Sports, Wins At Life." 1
Ryan Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Down went Geno Atkins, apparently. (Don't get NFL Network.)
Death From Above Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Bernard just scored probably the craziest TD of the year for the Bengals.
Dolfan in NYC Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Bernard just scored probably the craziest TD of the year for the Bengals. That was INSANE. Wow... That's your TD of the year
BobbyWhioux Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Well, looks like I'm about to get my first Thursday Game wrong in Highway To Ham. Worth it to see a game winning safety.
Death From Above Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I have a feeling there was a safety in an OT game within the last 3 years, but I can't remember where and am too lazy to look.
ChesterCopperpot Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 The first was in 1989. The Minnesota Vikings beat the Los Angeles Rams 23-21 when Mike Merriweather blocked Dale Hatcher's punt and the ball rolled out of the end zone. The second time was in 2004. Alex Brown (Chicago Bears) sacked Billy Volek (Tennessee Titans) in the end zone and knocked the ball loose. Tennessee tackle Fred Miller recovered the ball, but was tackled by Adewale Ogunleye for a safety to give the Bears a 19-17 overtime win over the Titans.
Dolfan in NYC Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 I have a feeling there was a safety in an OT game within the last 3 years, but I can't remember where and am too lazy to look. Bears over Titans in 2004. Billy Volek got sacked and fumbled, the Titans recovered in the end zone
Death From Above Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Three, nine. Whatever. In hindsight I'm probably thinking of a sack/fumble TD.
Dolfan in NYC Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Yikes, early indications are Geno Atkins tore his ACL. That'll be the season for him if true.
Burgundy LaRue Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 YEEHAW! Good grief. Freddie Coleman JUST played that song on his radio show less than five minutes ago. Are you two related?
RIPPA Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 The over/under on the game was 42 1/2 The total after the safety... 42 Where's Al Michaels when you need him
RIPPA Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Brent Grimes with TWO horrible whiffs on that play.
odessasteps Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Is it bad that my first thought when hearing the story about the dolphins player is that it was gay bashing?
Justin877 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Brent Grimes with TWO horrible whiffs on that play. The only thing missing from that touchdown run is Benny Hill and "Yacketyy Sax" playing in the background 1
Newb82 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Three, nine. Whatever. In hindsight I'm probably thinking of a sack/fumble TD.Cards won a playoff game in OT a few years ago with a sack/fumble TD on Rodgers.
Burgundy LaRue Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Is it bad that my first thought when hearing the story about the dolphins player is that it was gay bashing? It may explain why everyone seems to have stayed mum about it so far.
