Tromatagon Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Most of them weren't. Medusa, Debbie Combs, Malia Hosaka as far as the network goes; only one joshi tag
Cristobal Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 All I really remember of her in WCW was that one WW3 match with Nakano vs Ozaki/Suzuki.
CrazyMax46 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Hokuto is better than Asuka. But that like saying Michael Jordan was a better player than Lebron. Well yeah. A lot of people aren't as good as Hokuto. Including her own husband. 1
cool arrow Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Like anything in wrestling, they're fine until they're overused. And they're way overused in WWE right now. Also, they serve 50/50 booking a little too well. It's a meaningless way to end a match. I don't mind a roll-up finish as long as it isn't preceded by a distraction. And truth be told I can live with a distraction if 1) the heel is the one being distracted, and 2) it's an actual physical distraction, not just playing someone's fucking music. 1
Charlie M. Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I dumbly caught the end of the October thread, so I'll try this again: Roll-up pins. Why do some internet-folks dislike them so strongly? Roll-up pins ... good. Roll-up pins after a distraction ... the most overused finish in North American wrestling. Also a lot of guys aren't good at them and they make the guy getting pinned look like an idiot. 1
Raziel Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 It's not a problem with roll-up's per se, it's that it's the one of the only two ways a match ends 95% of the time. We've been pretty much conditioned at this point that a WWE match doesn't end until a finisher is hit, and the further up the card you go, the more finishers need to be given before the match ends(so in a Main Event, don't even get up until at least the 3rd finisher). The only other way they end a match is with a school boy. Its boring, its repetitive. 1
John from Cincinnati Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 You're seriously underselling the prevalence of DQs and count-outs.
Charlie M. Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I prefer a DQ or countout over the distraction roll-up. It might suck but at least no one involved looks like a moron.
Burgundy LaRue Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 2016 is gonna be fun if Roman turns heel and becomes the new chosen one by the authority. I've seen this fantasy booking in other places and I love it: when HHH and Steph throw Rollins out of The Authority, have them mention that the only reason they picked him is because Reigns didn't answer their call
Playa Shunna Ver 3.0 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 What is everyone's opinion on the O'Conner roll?
Raziel Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I love it, even though I've never seen anyone pinned with one in 15 years.
nate Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 What is everyone's opinion on the O'Conner roll? gif plz
Tromatagon Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 If Seth is kicked out of the Authority instead of leaving himself, he is damaged beyond repair and will look like the biggest bitch in the history of wrestling 1
cool arrow Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I love it, even though I've never seen anyone pinned with one in 15 years. Tim Horner's was great. He added that bridge at the end.
Burgundy LaRue Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Thing is, what motivation would Rollins have to leave, unless HHH goes so over the top in wussing him out over eventually dropping the belt--in which case, he'd still look bad based on those parameters.
RIPPA Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Well Nikki Bella tweeted that basically after tonight's RAW - she will be taking time off to recover from injuries ie: hang with Cena.
The Nature Boy Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Thing is, what motivation would Rollins have to leave, unless HHH goes so over the top in wussing him out over eventually dropping the belt--in which case, he'd still look bad based on those parameters. He could kick out Triple H and start fucking Stephanie. But he'd just turn into Chris Jericho at WrestleMania X8 2.0.
RIPPA Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Well they announced a 4-way for the #1 contender Nikki vs. Paige vs. Becky vs. Sasha It SHOULD be Sasha. It WILL be Paige.
Zakk_Sabbath Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 na they can't trust her, she cussed one time
Infinit Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 They are so many flash pins they can use other than a roll up. Like the aforementioned O'Connor Roll, small package, La Magistral etc. They just need to mix it up more.
A Guy Named Tracy Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I love it, even though I've never seen anyone pinned with one in 15 years. Tim Horner's was great. He added that bridge at the end. Not to be snarky, but Bob Backlund did that move starting circa 1973. They even named the O'Connor roll with the bridge the Backlund Bridge.
Patrick B. Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Infinit beat me to it. Standard schoolboy(with or without tights) just seems like the to-go flash pin nowadays. Variety and all that. Try a backslide. Oklahoma roll. The old double-leg with feet on the ropes a la Flair.
Dog Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Vince needs to stop yelling at Cole that flash pins are "stealing "a victory, even when the babyface does it.
The Comedian Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I had to look up what an O'Connor Roll was. I grew up on 80's WWF where they called it a reverse sunset flip.
