Brian Fowler
I assume any theatrical run will be dubbed, and then dual language on DVD/Blu-ray.
GojiColin
Between that rotting, rabid look and Hideaki Anno in charge I think this is going to be an interesting film.

Curt McGirt
There has to be a Godzilla film where Japan and all of the Southeast Asian countries and Australia have literally gone underground in an attempt to save the population from Godzilla and are trying to come up with a way to destroy him/her. Every other country can be either allies or freaked out and trying to attempt a nuclear or hydrogen bomb assault on the monster, they attempt to and fail which irradiates 1/4 of the world's oceans... Okay, that is really almost as grim as the first Godzilla, I'll stop with that fan-fic. They should remake Godzilla's Revenge only using the shorties from Attack the Block instead. Rev Ray
For what it's worth if you get Svengoolie, King Kong vs. Godzilla is the movie tonight.
The Unholy Dragon
Love the new look despite having some reservations about the tail. Super jazzed to see how the story pans out.
evilwaldo
October 11th, Shin Godzilla gets a one week run in the US. http://www.funimationfilms.com/movie/shingodzilla/
Brian Fowler
And, of course, as of right now "there are no theaters in that area. Try a different location."
evilwaldo
Yeah, the theater choices are bizarre. Can you not find one screen in Manhattan to play this for a week. The alternative theaters would jump at this option. The Ritz 5 in Philly is all alternative movies. How do you come to rural Scranton and miss major markets? I don't get it but I got a ticket. Curt McGirt
Yeah, just scratch Roger Ebert's freakin hometown right off that list. Good work Funimation. The Godzilla roar when I opened the link kinda spooked me

NikoBaltimore
There's a shocking amount of theaters playing this by me. Need to round up who's going so we can get tickets. This is going to be fucking awesome.
evilwaldo
I read some reviews and all I will say is that this sounds legitimately fucking awesome if the reviews are correct. Literally amazing. A good portion of the reviews are filled with spoilers so be wary.
Curt McGirt
Goddammit. You lucky bastards. Again: ROGER EBERT'S HOMETOWN. WE HAVE TWO LONG RUNNING INDEPENDENT THEATERS AND TWO MULTIPLEXES. WE EVEN HAVE A LOCAL DRIVE-IN. GIVE US GODZILLA!
Bustronaut
Where is this second independent theatre? The Virginia? They literally just run DVDs from the library. Not even blu-rays
Curt McGirt
Yeah. Oh well, never actually been there (though I was seriously tempted last year for Do the Right Thing) The Art does the same thing now, either streaming or discs. It sucks but I'll take what I can get. Bustronaut
I mean streaming is how they do all the Fathom stuff, so you can't really fault *it* but yeah, it is disappoint.
Brian Fowler
I saw Clerks and Pulp Fiction and Casablanca done off disc a few years back... It's nice seeing them on the big screen, but still disappointing in its own way.
odessasteps
Bump. This starts tonight. only 1 showing at 700 or 730 at places around here.
evilwaldo
I loved it. The cinematography was incredible. The story. The backdrop. The music. What a nod back to the classic sounds mixed with modern day music.
Eivion
I plan to see it this weekend with my older bother. Its actually playing at the theater closest to me which is a rarity for me with this type of stuff.
evilwaldo
If you saw the original you might want to see it again. There were a few nods back to the original in the film with respect to shots..
