Next week, FSU gets a visit from Cal, who took down Auburn in Jordan-Hare last week.

The ACC is going to blow up is just Big 12 fanboy bs, sure Clemson & FSU are suing with the hope that the SEC or Big 10 will take them, but those conferences really don’t need them and the whole GOR lawsuit will be in the courts for years. What’s more likely to happen is the the SEC and Big 10 pick off who they want from the ACC and Big 12 near the end of the decade and you’ll see new conference with teams from the ACC and Big 12.

You ever see those game clips where one team has a player with some sort of developmentary ailment, so the other team lets him score a touchdown? At this rate Florida/FSU will be like that times 22.

After watching how awful the Florida State QB situation is,  how the fuck did this same QB go 8-5 last year in Oregon State.   Was the PAC-12 defense that awful?  Is the Florida State coaching that significantly worse than Oregon State?  Is it just the extra pressure

And it isn't like he was terrible at Clemson.  He wasn't good but the Clemson version is like 2 or 3 times better than this

Thing to keep in mind is that then-ORST/now-MSU coach Smith is a Petersen/Boise guy, meaning he runs what could be considered a QB-agnostic offense. Their ideal situation is running the ball and only throwing on play-action when it’s schemed up to hit. Like, 20 pass attempts is their ideal game. And if you’re a good QB, you’re gonna look incredible, but if you’re bad, you’re still gonna seem fine because you’re not gonna be put in situations to fall on your face repeatedly.

That said, he was still just a 50-55% passer at ORST, which is god-awful by modern CFB standards, and over 50% of his TD passes came against the like of Stanford, Cal, UC-Davis, etc. He was totally ineffective against the good teams they played.

Like, I think it’s telling that Smith took the backup QB with him to MSU, not DJU. Should’ve been a big red flag for FSU.

Also remember DJU wasn't their first choice. They were all in on Cam Ward, competing with Miami. When Ward declared for the draft, then they pivoted. Then Ward changed his mind and Miami still had the opening.
