odessasteps Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Dodgers' success traced to talented newcomer
Travis Sheldon Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Glad the Dodgers decided to bring the bats for this game. Hope they bring them tomorrow, too. 2
Joe Lucia Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Deadspin, I love you. http://deadspin.com/why-dont-the-st-louis-cardinals-respect-the-game-1445679050 3
Tele-Viper Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 What?!? The Cardinals are a bunch of hypocrites?!? Color me shocked... Deadspin, I love you. http://deadspin.com/why-dont-the-st-louis-cardinals-respect-the-game-1445679050
dodgergabe Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Next you're gonna tell that the Cardinals fans are not The Best Fans in Baseball™. Another deadspin link http://deadspin.com/dead-letters-the-best-fans-in-baseball-respond-1443885237
Tabe Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I think the Cardinals had the right to be ticked about the ridiculous bat flip that Puig did. Without that, I don't think the celebration on third base - which I thought was totally fine - bothers anybody. This "Keepers of the Code" thing that the Cardinals have self-appointed for themselves has gotten more than a little old though. And I'm a Cards fan. As proof, here's my 1987 John Tudor jersey: 1
dodgergabe Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Except that they were also ticked at Gonzalez's celebration which was tame, and almost exactly like Beltran's celebration from the first game.
Kuetsar Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I really wish Joe Buck and all announcers would get a fucking clue. You only "strike out the side", when its a 1-2-3 inning. . . .
piranesi Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Except that they were also ticked at Gonzalez's celebration which was tame, and almost exactly like Beltran's celebration from the first game. There's a difference. When The Guardians celebrate, they are celebrating for us...with us...Their joy is a celebration of The Game! When the Dodgers celebrate, they are clearly celebrating at us. It's an aggressive and ugly display of hubris. They are selfishly celebrating their own success. You see, they can't be celebrating THE GAME! because a Dodgers victory is inherently bad for THE GAME! So...now you know: 1
piranesi Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 They don't hate America. They just want it to live up to its potential. And if that means military school, then that means military school!
Tabe Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Except that they were also ticked at Gonzalez's celebration which was tame, and almost exactly like Beltran's celebration from the first game. A fair point.
Tabe Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Back in the day, it was the Cardinals violating the code by having Vince Coleman stealing when up 9-0 leading to this (apologies for the wretched VQ) brawl highlighted by Whitey Herzog vs Roger Craig:
Tabe Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 That video led me down a rabbit hole that led to an awesome quick little brawl where Pat Corrales (Indians manager) went after Dave Stewart (A's pitcher), trying to kick him. Stewart promptly decked Corrales.

You can see how the work of The Guardians is never done. Perhaps a little gratitude might be in order for holding things together for so long.
Patrick B. Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 They hate our freedom and our way of life. You can't reason with them.
Kuetsar Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 These Tbs guys are only good in comparison to the Fox trainwreck. . .woof.
JRGoldman Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Can someone screen cap Jon Jay walking away after striking out while the screen behind him says 'Strike out Cancer!'? Basically sums up the Jon Jay experience.
