odessasteps
Lots of modern stuff on the June Criterion list, including Bound, which likely reads as a different movie now than when it was released.
HarryArchieGus
The Underground Railroad deserves the Criterion rub more than most. An incredible achievement, like his truly excellent If Beale Street Could Talk, seen by too few. Barry Jenkins is a goddamn modern master! Honorable mention to Nicolas Britell for his wonderful scores (especially Beale Street). Edited March 15 by HarryArchieGus

I'm doing the right thing and watching Trash Humpers (which I've somehow neglected to see) on Youtube for free with Spanish subs, which is today's version of finding an unmarked VHS on top of a Dumpster. I ended up with the DVD of Trash Humpers for free. Was at a used media store with a buddy. His girlfriend and him claimed to love "oddball cinema". So saw the store had a used copy for like 10 bucks. "Hey you need to see this since you and Tabby love odd movies" 3 days later he calls me telling me theyy made it 10 minutes into the movie and "you can have it for free" Right now trying to track down a cheap copy of Detroit Rock City on Blu Ray.

I'm doing the right thing and watching Trash Humpers (which I've somehow neglected to see) on Youtube for free with Spanish subs, which is today's version of finding an unmarked VHS on top of a Dumpster. And TODAY's version of this version was finding Side Roads, a *JEFF SPEAKMAN* joint pre-The Perfect Weapon where he has a porn stache that would make Harry Reems jealous, and yet despite its cover art looking like straight-up Zalman King softcore smut nonsense, it's instead some bullshit wannabe neo-noir with exactly the level of quality you'd expect from it, given that it's starring Jeff Speakman. Truly a How Did This Get Made if there ever was one. I've been watching a ton of Dropout TV lately, especially Game Changer & Make Some Noise, and I swear, the overwhelming majority of Brennan Lee Mulligan's villain monologuing and Jess McKenna's musical improv would put this *actual movie script* so badly to shame that, had those shows existed in the 80s, the writers of the film would have hung themselves rather than make the movie. And yet...here we are, stuck with it. It's like there's really no bottom to the amount of indigestible trash someone else thought would serve as entertainment. Curt McGirt
I'm definitely "poster who's watched Gummo the most times" so I'll proudly wear that medal too. Beat that! The only Ferrara I like more is King of New York. The Funeral gets an honorable mention for film with most stars that nobody has ever seen, and nastiest suicide.

I did watch it a lot... but I feel like I can't doubt anyone who would make such a claim It was kind of a comfort food movie but for when I was feeling pretty negative and my drinking years had a lot of those nights. I'd say from 2005 to 2016 I watched it a few times every month. "Synecdoche, New York" eventually became it's double feature partner. I don't think I'll ever watch either one again.

Gummo got a lot of play in my college apartments. Somehow it always seemed to end up playing in the background of parties.

Curt McGirt
https://severinfilms.com/products/cemetery-man-4-disc-4k-uhd-w-slipcase-booklet Awesome flick. Might not want to try and watch it with a person you're sweet on, it could backfire, like what happened with me. I really, honestly didn't mean anything by my choice of film, I just thought it was a rad movie... (we're still friends)
