I think some of that can be attributed to the beginning of "creative has nothing for you" plus the old standard of "ok, who in the hell hasn't worked tonight?". Go back and look at some of those Coliseum home video releases from when WWF business started its downturn. You get some random ass pairings and matches caused by being already in the middle of a long ass TV taping with a very incongruous roster of babyfaces and heels and actual stars and just random wrestlers. So on the singles front, you have like heel Shawn Michaels taking on heel Skinner. You get Jim Brunzell, who you likely forgot was still on the roster, tagging up with some random person. One of the Beverly Brothers is already gone from the company? Yeah, pair the remaining one with the Brooklyn Brawler. Fun for the whole family.

AxB
So, Wonderkid Johnny Storm is uploading large chunks of his DVD collection (of his own matches, or cards he was on) to YouTube. Curt McGirt
Hoo boy, now THIS is OLD... Classy Freddie Blassie vs. Rikidozan from 1962 in LA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ad-yv5OqM4&ab_channel=CactusBackWrestling Channel looks like it has more Riki. This was a year before he was murdered so maybe one of the last pieces of footage we have of him.
Curt McGirt
I skipped to Freddie's rant and he talked about contacting "my friend President Kennedy". Boy Freddie, if you only knew what was coming next year.

Elsalvajeloco
17 minutes ago, Cobra Commander said: THAT PENCIL NECK GEEK LEE HARVEY OSWALD KILLED MY PRESIDENT AND I CALLED MY FRIEND JACK RUBY BECAUSE I WAS SO MAD ABOUT IT Man, I watched the old HBO doc on Sugar Ray Robinson on New Year's Day before the CFP games as well as the first ever closed circuit doubleheader. That would have been then #1 contender Charles "Sonny" Liston absolutely knocking Albert Westphal into another dimension in one of the most brutal knockouts of all time in the opener. That would be followed by the man who Liston would conquer twice inside of one round in his only world title matches he didn't lose to Ali, then heavyweight champion Floyd Patterson stopping fringe contender Tom McNeeley. If that name sounds familiar, yes, that is the father of one Peter McNeeley. Patterson was trained by Cus D'Amato, who would be the mentor of one Mike Tyson. Both Patterson and Tyson would be the youngest recorded heavyweight champions. So yeah, that probably played a big reason why McNeeley got to be Tyson's first fight out of prison. Anyway, Patterson being the heavyweight champion means he was one of the most recognizable people on the planet. Thus, he was able to be friends with JFK and even be invited to the White House. So ultra soft spoken, very demure (and later on, very against a certain type of "radicalism" during the Civil Rights movement) Floyd Patterson was close friends with the sitting U.S. president while his number one contender was this big scary black dude who wasn't even accepted by his adopted hometown of Philadelphia and backed by the goddamn Italian mafia. Guess who white America was pulling for in the whole Patterson vs. Sonny Liston situation? I give will you two! Oh and the future number one contender waiting in the wings after Liston was this young wrestling fan from Louisville named Cassius Marcellus Clay.

Zimbra
I have never heard of Kasuichi and they are apparently obscure enough not to show up in Cagematch results but this card has a Kensuke Sasaki/Dick Togo v Takayama/Sugawara main event and you know that's something I want to see. https://archive.org/details/kasuichi7 The whole card: Makoto Oishi & MIYAWAKI & Yuji Hino vs. KAGETORA & Bear Fukuda & CHANGO Shuji Kondo & Naoki Tanizaki vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima & Munenori Sawa Toru Owashi & Minoru Suzuki vs. "brother" YASSHI & Daisuke Sekimoto Kensuke Sasaki & Dick Togo vs. Yoshihiro Takayama & Takuya Sugawara

Cobra Commander
guessing that all the job guys were socialists in Pinochet-era Chilean wrestling gotta love the ballroom look to the arena. Post-STL, you just didn't get a lot of televised wrestling in settings where it looks like people were eating a fancy meal during the card

Curt McGirt
Well, gotta post this classic from Titanes now. Infinit
I love the older Argentinian Titanes because it's just so campy and fun, but this is the first time I've seen the Chilean version and I fucking LOVE the presentation. Does any North American territory in 1981 compare? The arena/Soundstage. The band/orchestra. I'd love an indy to try and copy the formula or TK do something like it for a special show.
