Oh yeah, Phil fought me tooth and nail on having DJ as Wahoo's partner.  But we couldn't find anything better for him.

Replace DJ Peterson with either Rufus R. Jones or Johnny Valentine and this would have been my Grandpa's dream tournament.  He'd have them run roughshod over those other seven groups because they could, then these four teams would combine to implode the universe due to their sheer greatness.

 

So it's thanks to my Grandpa, as well as growing up on Wrestling at the Chase, that I could never, ever vote for a King Kong Brody loss for any reason, nor for a Dick the Bruiser loss (unless he was fighting Brody).

STL Wrestling Grandpa is probably better than KC Wrestling Grandpa since 70s/80s KC/Central States fans are legally required to invoke the name Bulldog Bob Brown. From what i've heard, Bulldog Bob Brown kept booking KC because nobody else would take him off of KC's hands. You don't get to be 18 time Central States Champ for no reason
