Josh Mann Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 On the 2000 Ravens' America's Game, Dilfer told a story about how his playbook ended up stolen in Nashville and weeks later recognized during their playoff matchup that the Titans knew every formation Baltimore had. Sounds like his m.o.
E.J. Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Apparently the Rams owner has purchased 60 acres of land in LA, for a possible stadium. The Rams are going home, one would think. . . Which is weird, considering LA is already in the process of building a stadium Downtown. Unless they're heading back to Anaheim, ugh.
odessasteps Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I was under the impression the Farmers' Field deal was dead, esp when Tim Liwecke left AEG and wound up in Toronto.
Vincey Greene Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 So Luke Kuechly - as predicted by moi, your boy Veeg - got DPOY which I'm fine with. Riverboat Ron got coach of the year, and I know it's based on the regular season and I know he did a lot, but I just don't see it. They had more than one moment of dreadful coaching this year - they were 1-3 to start, lest we forget - and they were horrendously coached against SF in the playoffs. Frankly, I don't think he did the best coaching job in their division, much less the league. Now, if there was a defensive coordinator of the year award, I'd be all about McDermott winning that.
Josh Mann Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Andy Reid even blew the COTY award down the stretch.
E.J. Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I was under the impression the Farmers' Field deal was dead, esp when Tim Liwecke left AEG and wound up in Toronto. I thought so too, but it seems like it's still on the table, just not a top priority. I know Garcetti has been talking to Goodell, so I don't think it's totally abandoned.
Gonzo Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 http://houston.cbslocal.com/2014/01/31/renaldo-wynn-gregg-williams-had-opposing-playbooks-before-facing-teams/ Yeah, I'm kinda seeing red right now. Gregg Williams is a piece of shit. A piece of shit that should still, at the very least, be under suspension by the National Football League. Fuck that guy. 1
Justin877 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 My football loving and geek heart is aflutter! Wish New Orleans was more than just the C3PO. I really like the Jacksonville and KC helmets though. http://www.behance.net/JohnRaya
Brian Fowler Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 So this year's incredibly pretentious video package compares the NFL to the Deceleration of Independence.
Kuetsar Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I'd like to best first to welcome the Broncos to this thread-what do you mean it's only halftime? 3
odessasteps Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I'd like to best first to welcome the Broncos to this thread-what do you mean it's only halftime? i was coming in here to see if anyone had made this joke yet. Well done
RIPPA Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 FYI - The Seahawks can host the opening Thursday game as the Mariners aren't home that day. EDIT - The Possible choices for opponent are "49ers, Rams, Cardinals, Cowboys, Giants, Broncos, Raiders, and Packers." I would prefer it be the Giants so they can get that ass beating over with. But if I was beating, one would assume it would be Broncos, Niners, Cowboys in that order of preference (though you know CBS will fight tooth and nail to keep the Seattle game)

I thought when AFC teams are the away team its on Fox.
Josh Mann Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Other way around. Denver at Seattle would be on CBS.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Other way around. Denver at Seattle would be on CBS. How does it work? I thought NFC was Fox, CBS was the AFC?

When its NFC vs NFC, AFC vs AFC yes its Fox and CBS...from what is being said when NFC hosts its an CBS game and when AFC hosts its a FOX game
Brian Fowler Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Yup, tv contracts go to road team for non conference games.

But NBC loves dem Cowboys, so I wouldn't be surprised if they got the nod. I'm assume the NFL would ask the brass at NBC who they would want.
muhammedboehm Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 So getting back to it I would guess Fox would fight hard to keep one of the two Sea/49er games since you know NBC/ESPN would also like one for either SNF/MNF. If the NFL sticks with the idea of having a couple divisional games to end the year you'd think Sea/49ers would be slotted for week 17 with the hope it would be a winner wins the West/1st/2nd seed. So I think we might end up with Cowboys @ Seahawks to open the season.
RonL21 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I also think SNF/MNF want the first home game in the 49ers new stadium in Week 1 or 2, and looking at the 2014 home schedule, the only two opponents I can see for that are the Chiefs and the Seahawks.

RIPPA Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 NBC will almost certainly get one Seahawks/Niners game (just like there is always one Giants/Cowboys or Bears/Packers or Steelers/Ravens) Yeah - I would think San Fran hosting Week 1 in the new stadium would be the leader in clubhouse for Sunday Night

So again - CBS isn't going to give up one of their two Niners games easily (well at least the KC one... the one against the Chargers they might not care about)

That leaves, Oak, SD, Arizona, Denver.
muhammedboehm Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Not sure if this goes here or the Star Wars thread. http://www.buzzfeed.com/austinhunt/nfl-and-star-wars-helmet-mash-up
