HOOT DAT!

We're going to New Orleans... Because it's time for SUPER BOWL LIX

Sunday, February 9th... 6:30pm...

The Philadelphia Eagles vs. The Kansas City Chiefs (-1½)

But who cares about that....  we're here to crown this year's superb owl!

This year we have a native of the Louisiana swamplands... you know him and love him... Bubo virginianus...

🦉🦉🦉

THE GREAT HORNED OWL~!

Hell yeah!  A hyper-aggressive asshole of an owl.  Here to fight and eat anything it can.    Well deserved!   Truly a superb chap!

Enjoy the game!

the school district in my area runs 4 day schedules where they don't hold school on Mondays (less said about that, the better) and since it's in Chiefs turf, they've announced a plan if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl.. they'll not hold school on Wednesday (the day of the parade) if the Chiefs win, and to make up for that lost day, they'll hold school on the day after the Super Bowl to make up for it

yes, they'll hold school on the day after the Super Bowl if the home team wins. What a world

So, aside from looking forward to this game just to basically hang out and play poker with my cousins, I'm also hoping, nearly praying, that Kendrick says fuck it and plays Not Like Us. Probably won't happen, but one can dream.

The NFL and Pat Riley have agreed to a deal where the Chiefs are allowed to use "Three-peat" if they win on Sunday.

I'm assuming this means that Jimmy Butler has also been traded to the Chiefs and will start at WR for them this weekend.

He'd probably fit right in to "Chiefs Culture".

It appears multiple members of the Eagles are currently sick with the flu.

I was going to make a "Utah fan delivering bad pizza to Jordan before game 6" reference but the reality is that there are dozens of things in New Orleans that can make people sick with flu

Like the same kind of things that gave Jordan "the flu".

I don't know how widespread it is throughout the country, but here in Louisville, my kids are doing school from home because of the flu. Tons of teachers and students out with it. Multiple counties around us have done the same. It's spreading really fast.

i don't remember if i usually post this here or not, but each year i sim the Super Bowl in Tecmo Super Bowl on the NES. it has just under a 50% accuracy rating. Anyway, here's this year:

May be an image of digital watch, television and text

Tecmo Super Bowl LIX prediction:

Kansas City Chiefs 35, Philadelphia Eagles 10

oh man, this one hurts to write. Very good and competitive game in the first half. Eagles relied a bit too heavily on their passing game, while KC had a more varied offensive assault. Score at halftime was 14-10.

The second half was an entirely different game. The Eagles got ONE first down the whole second half, while the Chiefs couldn't LOOK at the ball without scoring a TD. KC looked like the greatest team ever.... an interception, recovering their own fumble for a huge gain, multiple sacks, huge receptions, breaking big tackles, but also just a SMOTHERING defense. It was honestly like watching an NFL team against a high school squad.

Here's hoping the actual game tomorrow goes a different way. FLY EAGLES FLY!

No kidding. Great story.

I didn't think I needed another reason to root for Philly but now I do. Holy shit.

Can we get something crazy to happen to justify a 5 hour pre game show.  Nothing tragic of course.  Like can the team bus break down on the highway.   Maybe NBA can do a major trade.  Anything at this point

O God twiztor…I came here just to say what I had to say before the game so it atleast sounds intelligent now before it happens. If the Eagles do anything but run the f*^% out Saquon they’re stupid. Run it until it quits working, and then when it does try a misdirection or a Hurts playaction run before they sell out to throwing it. And don’t run playaction runs to Hurts just to run them, like the defense thinks Saquon might not get the ball 3 times in a row after he got first down on his last 2 carries. That’s the dumbest thing about the Eagles IMO. And don’t run the Philly Special just to run it for heck’s sake. And last but not least don’t destroy them with the run all game then quit it when it doesn’t even quit working.

fully agree. priority #1 is to make sure Saquon finds his groove.

If the thinking is that Philly needs to set up everything else because Saquon will always be there when/if those other strategies fail, then the game is lost.

My take is what most unbiased takes seem to be. If the Eagles come out and dominate, and don’t abandon what keeps working, they can win the game in a whoopin like they did the Pats game. If it’s close they won’t win even if they do nothing wrong. The Chiefs will just find a way like always, and if they don’t well we know what’s next. I believe that part no matter how many people laugh lol!
