What do the asterisks by some of the names signify?

Dammit I knew there was something I forgot

All of those are the ones releasing into Early Access

Grim Dawn has a new expansion coming out Soon(tm), and also teased in a response in the Steam forum that they're working on the engine for Grim Dawn 2.

Titan Quest II is also coming out Soon(tm), but I haven't seen any real updates since they announced it.

Cat Quest III will have a couple of big releases in 2025, first the Mew Game mode, then after that another story/content update.

Final Fantasy XIV should get 7.2 and 7.3 out this year.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is listed with a Feb 14th date.

It's still unlisted on all the storefronts.  I'm not holding my breath since they also refunded all pre-orders back when the delay was mentioned.

Theoretically we're also getting Terminator: Survivors and Dune: Awakening this year

I want to say it was Fightin Cowboy or someone else that got to play Dune: Awakening last year and that game has some issues in the sense that it's almost too big for an MMO and it feels too much like work. I thought some of the concepts in it sounded pretty fucking rad, like a perpetual world where players build their own structures, but then that shit would get wiped out by sandstorms and you'd have to rebuild, which is their way around not having a server farm the size of one of the Dakotas. But I guess that's also part of the issue is that you put all this work in to create structures and what not and then you're just always starting over.

It really reminded me a lot of the postmortems you'd read about Blizzards MMO that eventually became Overwatch because Overwatch was the only fun or playable part of that MMO. Everything else was too much like actual work and wasn't fun.

I'm curious about it mainly because I really liked what I played of survival games like Enshrouded, but the downside to all of those is that you have to either pay for a server or have a friend host a server so your shit never goes down and in both cases this shit is all on computers so something is bound to fail, whether if it's the hard drive, a messed up patch, internet outages, etc. A survival game where you didn't have to fuck with that real world aspect would be great, but the part where your shit gets wiped clean every week or whatever sounds, uh, frustrating.

I've actually yet to see a build/craft/survive game that turned out to be good (except for Terraria which is a very weird outlier stylistically), but I find the concept interesting enough that I keep an eye on it anyway.

Enshrouded came the closest, for me anyway, to threading the needle. More so than Valkyria, V Rising, or every other survival game. Building is ultra easy and actually kind of fun. Harvesting resources is faster than it is in something like No Man's Sky or Minecraft, and the world and enemies are pretty interesting. The problem is that, again, you're just doing this in a vacuum. My friends and I were really into it until the 3rd or 4th time our friend's server went down and then we went back to fucking around with whatever else we were playing.

Assassin's Creed Shadows - February 14

Our first delay since I posted the opening list

Assassin's Cred Shadows has been delayed about 6 weeks

New release date is March 20

I'll believe it when I'm downloading it.  This point, I might risk the PC version with Ubi+ instead of the PS5 version.  Or just wait until it's patched 3-4 times.

Nintendo announced a direct for 2.9.  They claim it's to focus on games that release during the first half of the year, so I would neither be surprised by nor count on a Switch 2 announcement.  If the rumor last week was true, that would have to be soon as the launch window might be around April.

Its official official

Most Switch games being compatible on the S2 is nice

No price point or release date is not so nice

Release date is probably July. The next Direct for the Switch 2 is in April, and “Nintendo Switch 2 Experiences” are a global thing with the last one in (I think) South Korea at the end of May.

At the end it said it's coming out April 2nd this year.

That’s the date for the Direct about the Switch 2.
