Craig H Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Holy shit. Irv got his song played on an MCU video. That’s pretty nuts.
JLSigman Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 I saw a short trailer on Instagram, of all places, and is that the dude from the first XMen movie playing Sabretooth? 1
odessasteps Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 I'm surprised this wasn't thr 4th of July holiday blockbuster. 1

If they're doing a multiverse thing, I'd laugh if they brought back Liev Schreiber as the X Men Origins Sabretooth. Edited July 8, 2024 by Technico Support 4
AxB Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Pretty sure they are doing a Multiverse thing. Looking at the trailer Spoiler It looks like Deadpool meets Patch, who looks a lot skinnier than Hugh Jackman does Speaking of which, have they basically established that X-Men Origins Wolverine is part of a different Universe than all of the other X-Men films?
The Natural Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 All three Deadpool films have had great marketing campaigns. 3
The Natural Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 There's a new Deadpool and Wolverine trailer today but SPOILER WARNING: it's spoilt a return. I won't say who. I just wanted to inform you. I'd recommend you don't watch it but if you do... 2
The Natural Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 My ranking of the X-Men movies: 13. Dark Phoenix (2019). 12. The New Mutants (2020). 11. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). 10. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009). 9. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). 8. The Wolverine (2013). 7. Deadpool 2 (2018). 6. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). 5. X-Men (2000). 4. X-Men: First Class (2011). 3. Deadpool (2016). 2. Logan (2017). 1. X2 (2003). X2 is by far the best. One of the best comic book films ever. Logan is great but so bleak. Deadpool arrived at the right time taking the piss out of the genre. Still fond of X-Men: First Class and X-Men. Former was the best X-Men film since 2003. Deadpool 2 disappointed me. X-Men: The Last Stand was the most disappointing X-Men film falling far short of X-Men/X2. The series had low lows in the bottom five of mine. 1
Ace Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 (edited) I popped over the return. Edited July 19, 2024 by Ace 3
Craig H Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 I broke down into tears watching the final trailer over that moment, mostly due to that return. 1
The Natural Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 Still surreal seeing Hugh Jackman in the classic blue and yellow Wolverine costume. Jackman's played the part since 2000 and we finally get it here in Deadpool and Wolverine.

Regarding your spoiler: Spoiler I'm not sure if it's Ray Park or not. If they've brought back Dafne Keen as Laura Kenny/X-23, Tyler Mane as Sabretooth and Aaron Stanford as Pyro, leads me to think Park's back too.

My fear was Deadpool getting neutered but he hasn't. I do wonder if we'd get this if Marvel Studios wasn't having troubles post Avengers: Endgame. Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe needs a hit, critically and at the box office. I think Deadpool and Wolverine will deliver both. 1

The mask is a must. I think we'll definitely be getting that. You can't do the classic suit without the cowl. 1

The Natural Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Footage from the film is out there already so friendly reminder to be careful.
Casey Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 If the spoilers I’m reading are true, there are some truly out of left field cameos in this thing. Some of them weren’t even mentioned at all by prominent leakers. 1
The Natural Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Can Deadpool and Wolverine spark Marvel's revival?
Casey Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 (edited) Yes. I watched it last night (shhhh) and it’s pretty awesome. It’s already on track to become the highest opening for a R rated movie I believe. But anyway, I’m biased because I generally like most things Marvel. It’s everything people wanted Multiverse of Madness to be, honestly. I’ll triple spoiler my thoughts, just in case. You’ve all been warned. Big, big spoilers. TLDR: It’s really fun. Like, a lot of fun. Some story beats didn’t quite sit with me too well, but whatever. It’s a solid 8, IMO. Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler It’s really fucking fun. A lot of laugh out loud moments, Wade roasting the MCU, Logan is a VERY different character than we’ve seen. I’d say Logan (the film) is more graphic, but this doesn’t skim on the gore and violence - in particular by Cassandra Nova - and he talks like me: every other word is fuck basically, lol. Speaking of Cassandra, this is your typical Marvel movie villain who is one and done. Which is a huge bummer, because she’s rightfully frightening. No real motivation besides “the Void is my home and a rogue TVA agent is threatening it” and “I’m evil” but it’s played so well that I can’t even hate it. Macfayden’s Paradox is a real asshole and he’s honestly the film’s villain. Or maybe the real villain is bureaucracy. Who knows! B-15 is in it for maybe 7 minutes. Seems odd to me that with Kang being an acknowledged timekeeper now, and out and about, that they’re actively against efficiently pruning timelines, but hey whatever. The cameos are just flat out fucking crazy. Channing as Gambit, Garner as Elektra, WESLEY SNIPES returns as Blade, Chris Evans with a Cap fakeout into the Jonny Storm reveal, X-23 obviously, Happy Hogan, HENRY CAVILLE as Logan (and that should be your MCU casting goddamnit), The Hulk (in a fight with brown & yellow suit Wolverine!), Pyro, Toad, a unseen variant of Dr. Strange, a recast versions of X3 Last Stand era Juggernaut and First Class era Azazel, who I think is a variant of Lady Deathstrike (???), maybe Angel Salvadore from First Class? The last two I’m not super sure on, but they resemble the characters. Magneto was killed by Cassandra, so was the Punisher & Daredevil. ALL of the Deadpool variants, way too many to name: Nicepool, Dogpool, Kidpool, Babypool, Ladypool, Cowboypool, then there’s a futuristic version, a samurai, various international versions, etc. I’m pretty sure this is setting up Wade’s universe - that now includes X-23 (should have anyway, right?) and Logan - to be the one that collides with 616 and they’ll probably just reboot the timeline with characters from Fox rolling over. That’s how they got Miles Morales into the main comic universe, so I expect that to happen here. Edited July 25, 2024 by Casey 4
Craig H Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 I have not seen this. I haven’t even looked at Casey’s post. I’m going on Saturday (kinda double feature seeing Twisters on Sunday). But last night when my friends and I were bullshitting after D&D, I was like, “Out would be fucking hilarious if they got the cheapest looking Jonathan Majors knock off in an even cheaper looking Kang costume and during the movie, maybe in a multiversal montage (ALLITERATION!), Deadpool just caps Kang right in the fucking dome and then he and Wolvie tear through the council of Kangs and that’s how they just write off that whole thing. I said it mainly joking, but then we all talked about it more and thought it was the best way to just end everything with Kang. I will shit my pants if this happens. 1
