This reminds me of when it was explained to me how little the youngs care for or appreciate Looney Toons. Stuff that felt omnipresent when I was younger just disappearing from culture. I feel ancient.

The youngs absolutely appriciate Looney Tunes. Bugs Bunny is a drag icon.

There are new Looney Tunes cartoons but I highly doubt they're as meta as the originals or even Animaniacs. But that may just be my old ass thinking "can't be as good as the ones that I grew up with". Somebody with kids might be able to elaborate further?

I'm afraid that uttering "TNA" again will summon the horror of V**** R****, no matter how much he says "I hate pro wrestling bro". Like because they changed the name back they can't help but open the next episode with Puppet looking at porn on a phone or something.

In all seriousness though, the 1000th episode probably drew up some nostalgia. They can't possibly think the name-change will aid in their ratings.

“IMPACT Wrestling? Give me a break. There’s not a promotion I hate more in this world! But I was a pretty big Motor City fan back in the day. A little while back, we faced them in a tag three-way. I know exactly how good they are, but this is a three-on-three NEVER six-man match, and we’re walking in champions. Being the face of NJPW, I can say that I hate…Actually, I don’t give a damn about IMPACT. Who I really hated was TNA.”

Thank you. I wrote "headgear" but I had no actual idea what that was. I didn't even guess "camera"!

Oh yeah. Re: the name change, they said their international partners use the term "TNA" to describe them and prefer it, and they call themselves TNA behind the scenes anyway, so they just said "fuck it" and rebranded (debranded?).

Ospreay/Speedball was prime goofus wrestling, just absolutely ridiculous all around. You didn't want it to stop because it wasn't supposed to stop. They should still be there doing finishers while the neckbeards keep chanting for-e-ver (clap, clap, clap-clap-clap).

I am very much on board with the name change revert. But can we get them to use the sleeker Hogan era TNA logo? The version they're using doesn't look very good with the multi color and weird X design element in it.

I think changing the name back is a good PR move and a good business move in general. The TNA brand name has a lot more brand awareness and identity. More people were watching then. More people know that name. It's a more conventional wrestling promotion naming style. It just works better despite the T&A double meaning.
