RIPPA Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 God - I really don't have $140 bucks to spend but I really want a fucking Sam jersey
JLSigman Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Michael Sam becomes the first openly, blah blah blah. . . . http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12931850/michael-sam-signs-two-year-deal-montreal-alouettes-cfl The Alouettes continue to get my good thoughts, as they gave my high school classmate Sly Miller a chance gods I'm old number of years ago. ;-)
DEAN Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Als sign Spider! http://en.montrealalouettes.com/article/alouettes-sign-three-draft-picks-including-laval-native-jesse-joseph
Death From Above Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 TSN has extended having the TV rights through 2021. That's a three year extension as they had a deal already through 2018.
DEAN Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Brandon London retired.http://en.montrealalouettes.com/article/brandon-london-announces-retirement
Death From Above Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Training camps have been positively NFL-esque for injuries so far.
DEAN Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Yoy! I hope Ottawa was saving something for the regular season- like defence and special teams.
odessasteps Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I heard on 1050 that the Alabama QB got cut in camp today.
Serious Darius Bagfelt Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Yeah its tough to make any kind of impact in the short CFL training camps.
Serious Darius Bagfelt Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 http://www.tsn.ca/former-players-file-200m-lawsuit-against-cfl-1.300462 2 former players are suing the CFL for $200 million dollars. Their concussions must have been bad. the CFL barely has $200 bucks let alone 200 million
odessasteps Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 It was hilarious hearing CFL mouthpieces Naylor and Hogan discussing that lawsuit the other day. They were trotting out all the usual league speak.
RIPPA Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Michael Sam has left Als training camp for "personal reasons"
Dolfan in NYC Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Outsports is not being very optimistic about Sam's prospects: http://www.outsports.com/2015/6/14/8780463/michael-sam-cfl-gay-montreal-alouettes-leaves-team The Gazette quoted two sources within the team who made it sound like Sam might be done and that his reason for leaving was basically him pouting: While Popp says the door remains open for his return, another source within the organization virtually guaranteed the likelihood of that happening is non-existent. The source also chided Sam for appearing on the reality TV series "Dancing With the Stars" instead of preparing for the coming season. ... Another team source said Sam may have simply overreacted to a comment that was made to him by another player. "All I know is I heard somebody made a comment about him, about how he wasn’t very good and wasn’t having a very good camp. He took it personally and was pouting in his room," the source said. "It’s very strange. I have no idea what’s going on. He might have a personal issue."
DEAN Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 Montreal vs Toronto is on the ESPN 3 Thursday at 7:30. ALS!
Gonzo Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Late on this, but Greg Childs, who was drafted by the Vikings in 2012 and promptly tore both his patellar tendons on one play in a training camp scrimmage (resulting in him being on IR for two years) was in camp with Winnipeg. Where he promptly tore his Achilles and is done for this year, too. That guy is seriously snakebitten.
Dolfan in NYC Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Montreal has officially suspended Michael Sam. The more I read, the more I think this guy really over-estimated himself. Damn shame.
Kuetsar Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Montreal has officially suspended Michael Sam. The more I read, the more I think this guy really over-estimated himself. Damn shame. Or, think of it this way. He rode a gimmick, by being the first openly gay NFL player, to being more famous than his skills would have taken him otherwise. . .
Death From Above Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Ricky Ray is going to miss at least a quarter of the season for the Argos.
