DouglasC Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Surprising absolutely nobody, the stadium in Hamilton will not be ready on time.
odessasteps Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Scott Mitchell was on 590 and 1050 and was not happy about it. He said litigation was likely in the future.
Death From Above Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 If you enjoy seeing people in the sports media make complete and total fools out of themselves, TSN Dave Naylor's twitter feed over the last 24 hours is a real humdinger.
odessasteps Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I like naylor but being a stodgy anti-soccer guy is not a gimmick to have. He should leave being a contrarian to simmons or cox.
Death From Above Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I don't even mind if he hates it. Yesterday's game was ass. That's fine. What's not fine is that he went to bed, had time to think about it, and came back this morning and just went on attacking people (with the classic "passive aggressive pseudo-facts" approach reporters love in these things) pointing out holes in some of what he was flinging around. That's the kind of unprofessionalism people in the self-righteous sports media make fun of social media for all the time. Naylor's hardly the first to participate in it when he should know better and he won't be the last, but boy that's some kind of shit show. The culture of disrespect started at the top. On the bright side of things, I'm actually looking forward to this Edmonton/Ottawa game tomorrow. Hard one to predict but based off the early season should be another close one.
Death From Above Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Winnipeg and Edmonton in first place like everyone predicted. It's like the good old days all over again for three weeks.
RIPPA Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Why do I get the feeling that Chad Johnson's TD is the only CFL highlight I will see on TV this year?
DEAN Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I appreciate that the Als are gearing me up for another year of Dallas Cowboy fandom. Two more soul-crushing defeats and we will be primed for Tony and the boys. 1
Death From Above Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Only problem with these nights where Edmonton is the second half of double headers at home is that I miss the majority of the first game just getting to Edmonton (well that and for an 8 pm start, not getting home until after 1). Sounds like it was a real good one, 34-33.
Dewar Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Winnipeg/Montreal was an ugly, interesting, exciting game. Crapload of penalties, some dumb turnovers, and a last minute touchdown for the win. Willypeg vs Edmonton for first in the west this Thursday night.
ChesterCopperpot Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 More people have posted in here than are at the Argos game tonight 1
Death From Above Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 But the CFL will never survive without Toronto even though it has for 20 fucking years.
Serious Darius Bagfelt Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Toronto needs to be euthanized. MLSE was interested in buying them but David Braley threw a laughable asking price at them so they told him to pound salt. Remains to be seen if the Blue Jays will kick them out of the dome but really as sad as it seems the Argos are about as dead as a sports franchise can be
Dewar Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I have purchased tickets for the Eskimos/Blue Bomber game this Thursday night. This could be a bad sign... 1
elizium Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 The Bombers, 20+ years of living up to expectations. I'd be mad, but I didn't pay for the tickets and I'm pretty drunk. I can handle losing, I can't handle no-shows.
Death From Above Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Esks defense is just scary enough that I almost believe they can keep making up for the problems with our offense.
elizium Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Guys on both teams were bobbling the ball all over. Nobody could hang on to anything.
Kuetsar Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Is there an American network that has CFL coverage?
Dewar Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 ESPN2 aired last night's shitfest. Check ESPN's website, I believe they announced what games they will be airing this season. High point of the game was trying to negotiate a beer purchase price with the woman sitting in front of me during the fourth quarter. She said 10 bucks, I tried to get her to sell it to me for five bucks and a hug. She ended up kicking over the damn beer accidentally.

elizium Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Esks defense is pretty, pretty good. It wasn't just the Bombers shoddy o-line, the Esks coverage was fantastic, left the backs and receivers very little room to operate. Honestly, for the most part the Bombers D was good too. Except for Reilly being unreal at escaping pressure. My anger over such a dismal performance has dissipated. I mean, 3-1, right?
DouglasC Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 A shame they couldn't poach Lyndon Slewidge for the anthem.
Death From Above Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 That fan totally ignoring the commissioner of the league and the Prime Minister of Canada to shake hands with Russ Jackson was without question my moment of the night.
odessasteps Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 At least the PM wasn't wearing a jersey, rob ford style.
