Dolfan in NYC Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Oh, hey. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are kicking the shit out of Toronto. The CFL! Rouges! Toques! Longer fields! Yay!
Serious Darius Bagfelt Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Wasnt a Drew Wiley fan but he is looking sharp tonight. Now have to see if he has progressed or is Toronto's defense pure ass
DEAN Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Jeez, I thought it was an ass-beating when I went to bed in the third quarter. Maybe Mike O'Shea is an offensive genius or something.
Dewar Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Draw up the parade route! The Cup is coming to Portage and Main!!!!! Perfect start to the season for a team everyone in this city was doubting. I assume the stadium will be packed for home game number two.
cubbymark Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Somehow it doesn't feel right to not have Doug Corti run a "HIGHWAY TO INSERT RANDOM CANADIAN SHOW" contest.
odessasteps Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Scott Mitchell was on 590 the other day and seemed to not want to say when the new stadium would be finished.
hammerva Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 So Troy Smith from Ohio State is the starting QB for Montreal based on today's game against Calgary. And based on the 2nd half, he still sucks
DEAN Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 It's still practically pre-season and that's why the Alouettes suck ass this week, right? RIGHT?
Death From Above Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Alouettes were always going to crash hard in the post-Calvillo era but this might be even better than I hoped. Meanwhile it's been like 3 plays since my QB Mike Reilly has had a work related accident so hooray.
Death From Above Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 A win! This season is already better than last.
DEAN Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Jiminy! This is looking like a collossal assbeating. Will there be a Jeremiah Missouli siting?
DouglasC Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 If it wasn't for the precipitation being rain instead of snow, I'd think I was watching a rerun from November.
Death From Above Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Odd that only BC/Edmonton was a close game in week one. Everything else has been crazy one sided.
Dewar Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Bombers suck again. It was a good game, while it lasted.
Death From Above Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 This Ottawa team looked like no joke on paper so I guess I shouldn't really be surprised. The expansion draft was clearly set up to give them a fighting chance.
Dewar Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Bomber defense finally gets a stop, then a touchdown. I take back what I said, get the Grey Cup parade route ready!
elizium Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I was just about to write how much I like Nic Grigsby, but then he goes and nearly gets his quarterback killed. Work on your blocking reads, please. I have Post-Buck Disorder, where I flinch and expect the worst any time a defender touches the quarterback. If this is a truer representation of who the Bombers are, I can live with it. They're already more fun to watch than last year's lame duck edition.
Dewar Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Last year's team was total ass. They play the lame-duck Alouettes next week, there is a VERY legitimate chance they tie their 2013 win total by week 3 of 2014. I posted on the twittah that I thought O'Shea would be a great coach for the Argos, but I'm really happy he's a very good coach for the Bombers right now.
elizium Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I can't believe they were let into the building with those on, Winnipeg is notorious for banning anything that could be fun.
Death From Above Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Yeah the spikes are spikes after all. I mean you can't even bring a flag on a hockey stick into games anymore.
hammerva Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Watching the Edmonton/Hamilton game and didn't know they created a rule where you can challenge for pass interference even if none is actually called. I like this idea and definitely something the NFL should think of Like seeing Zack Collaros from Cincy starting on a CFL team although he might have been killed on that helmet to helmet hit tonight.
Death From Above Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 That last minute was why the CFL's rules are the best. None of this "lol two minutes, victory formation" horse shit that goes against every basic principle of what sports are about. Instead you get a sequence of 5 plays from inside the 20 with 24 seconds to go that would never even happen otherwise. First half was kind of ass, but it was all forgiven for that finish. Very fun beginning to the home season. Aaron Grymes is the breakout star of the whole first two weeks for Edmonton. Guy is just everywhere in the secondary on defense.
cubbymark Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 The Alouette offense still scares me deeply, but Troy Smith did a much better job against BC (although there should have been a pick six.) It's so weird seeing Ryan Dinwiddie as a CFL OC. But the defense played a great game.
odessasteps Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 @poppjim 20 yrs ago today, July 7,1994 the Baltimore Stallions (CFLers) played & won their 1st regular season game @Toronto 28-20
