Since last week is closed: I watched half of Collision (started having problems with the YouTube DVR and gave up).

Penelope Ford was really stiffing the shit out of Robyn Renegade, especially early on, presumably because she’s out of practice on pulling strikes. She also blew her handspring move. They really need to find a way to get people coming back from ling injuries more ring time before coming back to national TV.

MxM-Outrunners was awesome and the crowd was really into it. But, while I know it’s kinda part of the gimmick (and likely a WWE relic), they really don’t need to do that stereotypical “ambiguously gay tag team being stuck in a 69 position” especially for 20-30 seconds. It’s outdated and dumb.

The Yuta-Nigel interview was great to add some nuance to the larger angle.

The show crapped out right around the start of Lio-Ricochet.

Hold up, I wanna flesh out this Crisis on Infinite Earths idea. It has to have territories and time periods all be different universes. Who would be the Monitor and Anti-Monitor? Is Pariah just a melange of fans over time, doomed to watch beloved promotions fade and fail? I think we could figure this out.

I dunno, I got sidetracked by my own laughter as soon as I randomly visualized Nick Bockwinkel being managed by Dawn Marie.

They’re distributing newspapers at the arena tonight with the headline “What happened to Toni Storm?”

There’s a (rather large and obnoxious) QR code on it, that leads to this absolute fucking gem of a video.

Jon Moxley told the Canton Repository how important it is to him to provide memories for fans:

I don’t think so much about the memories I’ve made for myself. It’s more about the memories I’ve tried to create for other people. People coming up and telling me I’ve given them inspiration or joy with a match means more than any list of accomplishments on paper or personal memories. It means a lot when people tell me that I’ve been a part of their lives somehow. It means something when a father and son tell me they watch my matches together. I’ve also been hearing I’ve grown up with you and been watching you since junior high. That one gets me a bit. I start to go, ‘Oh my God, I can’t be that old now can I?‘

---

That's a really nice thing to say, Jon Moxley. Thank you.

MVP and Barnett are apparently working eachother on the next Bloodsport card. Interesting how that is going to work out as I thought MVP was done due to injuries and looked like he needed a cane to walk.

MVP has been getting stem cell treatments in Mexico so I assume it's been helping if he's going to give ring work a shot. I know Big E went with him on one of the trips, but it seems like E went for just general quality of life improvement versus trying to get back in the ring.

The Wrestling Observer reports that AEW and WBD negotiations are said to be “close” to getting a TV deal for Ring of Honor. The rumored home for ROH, if the deal happens, would be TruTV. The cable network is in the process of transitioning into a sports channel in prime time and would need new content. It’s believed that the reason Chris Jericho won the ROH World title last week is to present him as the face of the brand during negotiations, due to him being the biggest star.

I like to think ROH having it's own TV show will mean a) no more ROH belts on AEWTV, and b) a more solidified ROH roster that sticks to the promotion, and not used as enhancement talent on AEWTV. I realize this may just be wishful thinking.

Syndicated ROH making a return is the absolute best thing for it. It'll be so much more special than just the AEW D-show, feel like its own brand again hopefully. And Syndicated Wrestling is the shit.

This is good news in theory as ROH isn't a bad product in and of itself, but they need to figure out a better way to record it. Adding an extra hour or two onto Dynamite or Collision is just giving audience fatigue in a half-filled arena. They need to find a way to go back to the pre-covid process of finding some 1000ish seat venue in the northeast/mid-atlantic area and taping a few hours of TV twice a month then having a bigger live event every other month or so.
