Dewar Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 We should all just be happy that when we watch the New Orleans Bowl they might actually get a good crowd that's into the game. Think of how many bowls have shit crowds, including some BCS games.
Pete Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Yeah, it's a glorified home game for Tulane (though they're supposed to get their own stadium in a few years) but the ULL fans brought the heat last time they were there. And it's not like this game was a draw before they went local for the schools...
Dolfan in NYC Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Jameis Winston investigation is complete. News conference set for 2pm tomorrow to announce the findings. Indictment/arrest for a felony will automatically disqualify Winston from playing the rest of the season.
Kuetsar Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Jameis Winston investigation is complete. News conference set for 2pm tomorrow to announce the findings. Indictment/arrest for a felony will automatically disqualify Winston from playing the rest of the season. Call me a cynic, but I have a really hard time believing that he will be charged, with a national championship on the line. I have no ideas about his guilt or innocence, but politics has a funny of twisting criminal cases. . .
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Yeah, I don't see charges being brought at this point, either. Why have a press conference if you're going to charge the guy? Just arrest him and go from there. This could be worse for Winston, in a way. With no charges, the case closes and can/will be unsealed for the public to review. Everyone will be going over it carefully and drawing conclusions. Winston will likely still suffer a massive blow to his personal integrity.

Burgundy LaRue Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Well, that was a given. Big Ben only got to stay with Pittsburgh because he was already there. I can't imagine the average NFL knowingly bringing in a potential rapist.
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I feel the opposite. If he's not charged which is looking like how this will go down, it will be forgotten. It's sounding like a Kobe situation.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 With Kobe, he already had the money to pay his accuser, and could take care of things quickly. Winston doesn't have that luxury right now, and won't for at least another year. Best believe Winston's accuser will be bring a civil lawsuit to everyone who was involved in this mess. At the very least, she can make his life miserable for a while.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Official from State Attorney--no charges against Winston.
Spontaneous Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Watch Duke somehow injure him on their opening drive and we get Missouri vs. Alabama. WATCH I TELL YOU.
cubbymark Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 NIU's chances of busting the BCS not looking so good right now, trailing 31-13 to Bowling Green at the half.
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I found it odd how the announcers kept saying "this is going to hurt Lynch's Heisman hopes" Every year these dark horse candidates from small schools are discussed but who is the last guy to make some real noise? Randy Moss?
Brian Fowler Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I found it odd how the announcers kept saying "this is going to hurt Lynch's Heisman hopes" Every year these dark horse candidates from small schools are discussed but who is the last guy to make some real noise? Randy Moss? If Winston had been charged, and if Lynch had then gone out and put on a fucking show, he might have had a chance.
cubbymark Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 And the Orange Bowl rejoices. They're still going to get a crappy game regardless of who ends up going.
EVA Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 No way. Will likely be Clemson vs. Baylor or Oregon now. Possibly Alabama.
Josh Mann Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Once upon a time, the Duke fans would have shown their 2300-SAT class by throwing condoms at Winston. I still wouldn't put it past them.
EVA Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 It would be so wild if things broke a certain way and Missouri ended up in the title game. Weirdness.
Dolfan in NYC Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 With how badly Central Florida is struggling against Southern fucking Methodist right now, I fully expect Auburn drop 95 on them in the Sugar Bowl.
EVA Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 RICE are your 2013 CUSA champs. That's how bad CUSA sucks now.
EVA Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Kinda conflicted on this Baylor/Texas game. On one hand, I want Baylor to win so that there is NO chance of Bama running into them in a BCS bowl. On the other, I'd love to see Texas win just to keep torturing Longhorn fans who want Mack gone.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Come on, EVA. You know you want Texas to win so no private planes from Tuscaloosa make their way to Austin.
EVA Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Ha. I'm as unconcerned with that possibility as I can possibly be.
