Josh Mann Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 ...said fans of Michigan St, LSU and the Dolphins at some intermittant point.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Could Saban leave? Sure. But at 62 years old with Alabama set up exactly the way he wants, with recruits chomping at the bit to wear crimson and white, and with boosters and an administration who will buy the program all the best toys (A $9 million weight room! Waterfalls in the jacuzzi pools!), I don't know if he's that interested in Texas or any other job--for no other reason, it'd take 2-3 years to change things to his standards. Why bother when Alabama is already set up and they'll give him $7-8 million/year if he asks for it? The idea of him wanting a new challenge carries some weight, but not enough to outbalance the factors I've just named, IMO. But to be on the safe side, EVA is in position to tackle Saban on the jet tarmac at a moment's notice! 1
Brian Fowler Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I'd find it more likely he'd want another shot at the NFL. But Texas does have the money...
EVA Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Wow. Missouri dodged a bullet. I thought for sure Auburn was about to go up 35-20 and basically put the game away at halftime, considering how totally helpless mizzou's defense has been.
hammerva Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 So yeah nobody cares about defense in this Auburn/Missouri game
EVA Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 This Texas/Baylor game has turned out eerily similar to the Baylor/Oklahoma game. Great defensive effort in the first half is wasted on a piss poor offense, and Baylor gets it together in the 2nd.
EVA Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 The SEC championship game is going to last 8 hours at this rate.
Gonzo Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Wow. . .that Auburn defender needs to get booted for that.
hammerva Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 How does Ryan White from Auburn not get kicked out of the game there? Hard to believe that when he shoved about 5 yards out of bounds he didn't see the cart next to him Ohio State is going to need a massacre to go over Auburn assuming both win Auburn has rushed for over 440 yards in 3 quarters 1

Hard to believe that when he shoved about 5 yards out of bounds he didn't see the cart next to him Ohio State is going to need a massacre to go over Auburn assuming both win Auburn has rushed for over 440 yards in 3 quarters I think they surpassed 500 on that last run before the quarter ended.
EVA Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 This game is an embarrassment. Not even the slightest pretense toward playing defense is being made.

According to the ESPN GameTracker, they're at 499 right before this fourth down play. And the 1-yard touchdown run gives them an even 500 if it stands.
cubbymark Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 OSU probably gets into the BCS title game if they hold Sparty to 35, assuming they also win.
cubbymark Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Part of me would like to see if this Auburn/Missou game would be just as insane if it were outdoors, seeing as the rest of the US seems to be in a deep freeze.
Charlie M. Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Who was the coach that questioned SEC defenses earlier this year and got roundly criticized for it?
EVA Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Hey, it's a defensive stop. Been a while since I saw one.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 This game is an embarrassment. Not even the slightest pretense toward playing defense is being made. Seriously, what happened to Mizzou's defense? I thought it was supposed to be top-rate. This is why I would have rather seen Alabama-South Carolina in the game. Much better chance to see actual D being played. Not to mention that both coaches would have cussed up a storm by now.
Death From Above Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Who was the coach that questioned SEC defenses earlier this year and got roundly criticized for it? YOU GO TO HELL AND YOU DIE SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC
EVA Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Mizzou has a solid D, but Auburn is just a terrible matchup for them. They're too small up front. And Auburn can't cover anybody. A recipe for pointsgalorez.
EVA Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Mizzou should've thrown more screen passes today. Auburn was playing off coverage all day, and especially when they started blitzing. Big plays to have been had. That's a rookie play caller for you, though.
Brian Fowler Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 At the start of this season, there was a commercial on a lot for MSU football, mentioning that over the previous 4 years, they had the most Big 10 wins. Given that they went 8-0 in conference play again this year, it's now true over the last 5 seasons. Over those previous 4 years, where they were overall the best team in the Big 10, they won a combined zero Big 10 championships.
EVA Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Who was the coach that questioned SEC defenses earlier this year and got roundly criticized for it? YOU GO TO HELL AND YOU DIE SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC Okay, just because these were the two teams playing the championship game, let's not confuse them with the best that the SEC has to offer, especially as it pertains to defense. I mean, Missouri is a good team and had a nice season, but they weren't really challenged before today. In the regular season, they avoided the top 3 teams in the West, and the two standard-bearers of the East, Georgia and Florida, were shells of themselves (err, okay, that's arguable on UF's part) due to injuries by the time they played Mizzou. Even Texas A&M was kind of in a tailspin with a banged-up, checked-out Johnny Football by the time they played. The only really good SEC team they played was South Carolina...and they lost.
