More like I clearly didn’t read the posts above mine.  No slight intended.

Of course not. But we'll give you a ration of grief anyway ?

Mark Appel - at the age of 30 - has finally made the bigs

It feels like another lifetime ago that he was the #1 pick in the draft

With Ty France hurt get ready for the Mariners to begin a losing streak. The only decent hitters they have left are JP Crawford and Julio Rodriguez. Gonna be a rough couple of weeks.

Astros throw a combine no hitter vs Yankees

WOOHOO!

Second time the Astros no hit the Yanks in their stadium.

Fuck the Yanks!

Angels and Mariners had a legit brawl that had 8 folks ejected and Anthony Rendon trying to earn his contract somehow

Things unseen in the video

  • Jesse Winker flipping off the crowd as he left the field
  • Raisel Iglesias flinging an entire bucket container of sunflower seeds at the Mariners dugout
  • Anthony Rendon throwing jabs with his non broken hand

It should be noted that the Angels threw at Julio Rodriguez at the first pitch of the game because they were pissed that Seattle had thrown up and in on Mike Trout last night. (The warnings were issued on that throw)

Meanwhile - Aaron Judge walked off the Astros for the 2nd time in 3 games with a three run HR in extras

Somewhere in between those two walkoffs, the Yankees had gone 16 1/3 innings without a hit, the longest stretch by any team since at least 1961

And a Mariners fan sent Winker a pizza and it kind of blew up on Twitter.

That was actually a pretty good brawl at these things go.

It never ceases to amaze me, though, that MLB is completely unwilling to do what it would take to end throwing at guys and brawls. They could do it overnight but refuse.

The Giants got so far behind so quickly today that Jon Miller & Friends had to go into filler anecdote/other scores from around the league mode early and according to the interns no team has ever actually been no-hit in consecutive games.

Closest call apparently came in 1917 when the St. Louis Browns, of all teams, threw 2 no-hitters on consecutive days over 3 total games played against the eventual world series winners the Chicago Not Yet Black Sox

Further down the thread she shares a screenshot of Winker thanking her.

Apparently, a number of Mariners fans sent tip money to the Door Dasher via Venmo and Cash App, too.

Immediately my mind goes to vandermeer, but forget that pitchers have breaks. . .

letting the batters open carry to dissuade beanball wars has some downsides though

I'm not sure I can think of any though...

Just make it a automatic 15 day suspension for charging the mound. The only way to stop pithers throwing is eliminate the dh.

Yeah because there weren't brawls in the NL when pitchers hit.

The only way to stop pitchers from throwing at batters it to put the ball on a tee and eliminate the position entirely.

The Angels specifically changed their starter yesterday to a rookie who could eat a suspension just so they could throw at the Mariners very first batter. So when get they "get their revenge", they aren't waiting for the perfect scenario where the pitcher might end up at bat - especially if it is a relief pitcher.

Trevor Hoffman had 36 plate appearances in his entire career. That is a whole lotta teams never getting a chance to throw at him if that is what they are waiting for.

It all goes back to the bullshit of "Unwritten Rules" - you either have managers telling a rookie to do it or the veteran (think Justin Verlander or Max Scherzer types) who do it on there own. It also falls on the umps - there should have been ejections after the very first pitch. There weren't so Angels tried AGAIN. All because they didn't like that Mike Trout got a pitch up and in the night before.

If Ohtani was on the mound - no one is getting thrown at yesterday.

This has zero to do with there being a DH
