RIPPA Posted November 24, 2021 Author Posted November 24, 2021 In another concession that the lockout is coming - MLB and MLBPA have agreed to move the tender deadline to Nov 30 (it was scheduled for Dec 2) This will allow all the arb eligible players to know their status before the transaction freeze happens
RIPPA Posted November 24, 2021 Author Posted November 24, 2021 That reminds me because I don’t think it was mentioned - former Cleveland closer Doug Jones passed away
BrianS81177 Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Mariners acquired Adam Frazier from the Padres for a couple mid level prospects:
RIPPA Posted November 28, 2021 Author Posted November 28, 2021 Okay - catching up on all the signings Marcus Semien is going to the Rangers: 7 years, $175 million Twins and Byron Buxton agreed to an extension: 7 years, $100 million Corey Kluber is going to the Rays on a 1 year deal. $8 million that could go to $13 million based on incentives Michael Wacha took a 1 year deal from Boston ($7 million) And then there was the Mets who went shopping on Black Friday Starling Marte: 4 years, $78 million Mark Canha: 2 years, $26.5 million Eduardo Escobar: 2 years, $20 million
odessasteps Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 I saw Scherzer was trending, but it was just people speculating.
Death From Above Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 Semien really gives zero shits about getting a ring huh
Niners Fan in CT Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 -Gausman to the Jays for 5 years/$110M -Jon Gray appears to be headed to the Rangers

Scherzer to the Metropolitans is apparently all but done, per multiple people. (However, the last hour has them "in a holding pattern". The Mets have apparently made the highest offer. Some believe to be north of 40m per year.)
RIPPA Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 The locals melting down over Max going to the Mets is making my morning
RIPPA Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 Scherzer's AAV is going to be roughly $43 million which will obliterate that record
Death From Above Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 He's also still getting $15 million a year from the Nationals? lmao what a life, man

John from Cincinnati Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Robbie Ray to the Mariners. Five years, $115 million. 1
RIPPA Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 It really does seem like the normal "heavy hitters" (NYY, LAD, Boston, etc) are perfectly willing to let everyone spend now, swoop in after the lockout ends and sign a bunch of dudes on one year deals and then take advantage of the new CBA next offseason. (I fully expect after hitting submit - the Yanks or Dodgers will sign Corey Seager to a billion dollars)
Raziel Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 The Yanks aren't signing anyone unless they're slinging Chicken Buckets.

John from Cincinnati Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Corey Seager signs with the Rangers. Ten years, $325 million.
RIPPA Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 Oh yeah - people really need to pump the breaks on giving the Rangers all the rings Not to mention try to roll with "potential greatest infields of all time"
Raziel Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Waiting on the Yankees to start making moves...
RIPPA Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 I am totally fine with them waiting I am also totally fine if they get around to non-tendering Gary Sanchez in the next 36 hours
Raziel Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 I'd be fine if there are actually moves to make come the new CBA. It looks like teams with money *aren't* waiting for the lockout. Or they think the CBA is going to be quick with the money they're spending.
