MLB OFFSEASON (Maybe soon???)

Apparently the finalists for the Mets' manager job are Buck Showalter and Joe Espanda (with Buck the supposed favorite)

I love Buck and want him to get another gig - I will just feel bad if it is with the Mets

Funny, I think he easily could have caught on somewhere else considering he set career highs in HR and RBI last year.

He could have caught on but he was awful last year. 35 homers, yeah, but a .285 OBP that would've embarrassed even Rob Deer.

Seager said he knew he was retiring before the season ended and had thought about it as early as Spring Training

In looking at his full quotes - it does go back to the point that it really looks like he knew the Mariners weren't keeping him and he didn't want to play anywhere else

So the Yanks hired Eric Chavez as an assistant hitting coach

They Mets heard that and thought "HEY! That sounds like a great idea" and are hiring Chavez as their hitting coach

He was on the Yankees staff for two weeks and didn't actually assist any hitters

To be fair - that was from the beginning of Dec and was reported at at the time. So it isn't new

HOWEVER - it isn't like they have made any progress and Jeff Passan had an article a day or two ago (full article is behind a paywall) that basically says nothing has changed

In related news, she's already become the first baseball manager preemptively accused of getting caught in bed with their players.

All of the snowflakes are making the jokes already and concern trolling about how she's going to handle a player trying to get cute with her. Hello... this is the NEW YORK YANKEES. The same team that blew up their minor league affiliation with Staten Island at least in part because they were going to call themselves the Pizza Rats. Guarantee you, any shithead who tries to make a pass at her will be in the Pecos League before they know what hit them.
