Dolfan in NYC Posted August 4, 2019 Author Posted August 4, 2019 Golden State locked down Draymond. 4/100 is the extension on his current deal.
Brian Fowler Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Vince Carter to retire... After next season. Maybe. Signed a one year deal with the Hawks, will be the first person to ever play 22 NBA seasons. 1

Assuming he makes it through the year - as long as he plays a game in 2020 - he will be the first NBA player to play in 4 decades
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 Good for him. Also, as pointed out on reddit, Vince Carter is older than the father of his teammate, Trae Young. 1
Zimbra Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Speaking of old guys, Haslem signed a new one year deal with the heat. I'm down to only 5 active NBA players older than me and I really need these guys to hold on. 4
Brian Fowler Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 I have 6. Goddammit why couldn't Calderon have been born two weeks earlier?!?

Dolfan in NYC Posted August 14, 2019 Author Posted August 14, 2019 Joe Tsai is buying out his co-owners and will wholly own the Brooklyn Nets. He will reportedly pay $2.35B
Brian Fowler Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 He's paying 2.5 billion for 51% (he already owns the rest) That's half a billion more than Ballmer paid for the Clippers in whole.
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 15, 2019 Author Posted August 15, 2019 Stop me if you've heard this one before... DeMarcus Cousins just got hurt. He's sustained a knee injury during a workout. No word on severity yet.

And I remember when folks tried to argue that no baseball team would be sold for a billion dollars BTW - the 2.35 billion number Dolfan had is what Forbes estimated what the Nets were worth (which at the time of the 2019 rankings was 37th of the sports franchises)

Zimbra Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Boogie is going to replace Penny/Grant as the "You young'uns don't even know. If he had stayed healthy...." guy in like 10 years. 1
RIPPA Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Okay the Nets sale is officially happening Tsai is paying $1.35 billion for the Nets (he already spent $1 billion for his current ownership shares) He is paying ANOTHER billion dollars to also buy the Barclays Center The $2.35 billion that Tsai has spent on the Nets makes it the largest purchase price for an American professional sports team
Brian Fowler Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 The Grizzlies have granted Dwight Howard the right to have his representatives talk to other teams, including.... The fucking L.A. Lakers!

Zimbra Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 The Lakers are going to work out Howard, Joakim Noah, Mo Speights, and Marcin Gortat. I don't even know what the least-bad option would be.
Brian Fowler Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Assuming last year was just bad health, and he'll return to where he was the last few years before that, Howard is probably the best player of that group, but the fact that nearly every teammate he's had hates him, that seems like an issue. Noah did play better last year than he had in quite some time. But since a lot of people are crediting that to him getting away from the New York nightlife, I'm not sure L.A. is much of a solution. The other two... That's just dire.
Jiji Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 The league needs Maurice Speights' head growth thing.
CSC Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Oh fuck that shit. Dwight Howard leaving is what sent the Lakers on this downward spiral for the last 6 years. I don't care if he might be the best option, you keep him as far away as fucking possible. The fact that they are actually working him out is mind boggling to me.
Lawful Metal Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 If Dwight would just run the pick and roll, rebound and play defense, he'd be All-World, even now. Whenever he insists on trying to post up, or try to create one-on-one ... 1
