odessasteps Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Not a bad draw. Only one crazy trip to Cyprus. Good chance to make it out of the group stage.
sabremike Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Puckie is on the perch in the South Ward at RBA! I repeat: PUCKIE IS ON THE PERCH IN THE SOUTH WARD AT RBA!!!!!
odessasteps Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 New Pod today with Gab Marcotti talking Champions and Europa League draws, PSG & FFP, Chelsea vs Everton and his being an ECW regular in the 90s. Http://Tinyurl.com/winter67
sabremike Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Jair Marufo is worse than pubic lice. But it's understandable that he could miss a blatant penalty. It's not like VAR has been introduced... oh.
Jiji Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Arsenal's performance reminds me of that one scene in Eastern Promises (no, not the bathhouse one!). I wonder if Wenger sees Liverpool as a direct rival for 4th after today. It was rumoured in the rags that he's more open to selling the Ox to Chelsea than to Liv'pool because the plazzies are title contenders. Still a few long term issues for Liverpool if they want to really compete at the top (apparently Van Dijk is the only centreback alive not contracted to LFC) but today was awesome. Jermaine Jenas can fuck off with his early negative comments about Salah.
piranesi Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 "The performance was not at the requested level." - Arsene Wenger on Arsenal vs. Liverpool or Napoleon on his invasion of Russia?
Jiji Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Keita to Liverpool next summer with the Reds paying a premium on top of next summer's £45m release clause to get it done before one of the bigger clubs turn their attention to him. Awesome. Probably confirms the Can to Juventus on a free transfer next year but I think that's a significant upgrade despite Can's past two performances. They also seem to be going in for Lemar bigly. Yes, please. If Liverpool could bring in Lemar and a CB, I could see them being serious title challengers.
Pete Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 FourFourTwo: Premier League clubs as Game of Thrones characters Was pleasantly surprised with their choice for City.
Death From Above Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 This is both immensely depressing and quite hilarious. How long would it take you to earn a star player's wage? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/41037621
odessasteps Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Looks like the Ox is going to Merseyside and not to Chelsea. And Renato Sanches on loan to Swansea. Carlo helping out his old assistant.
The Natural Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Arsenal doing an Arsenal early. Transfer Deadline Day today. An interesting one this Transfer Window.
odessasteps Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 When you've lost Wrighty, not a good day for Gooners. 1
Roman Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Mbappé to PSG as well, first 'on loan' so they can give the rules a humongous 'fuck you' too.
odessasteps Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Bigger story tonight might be all the players apparently turning down going to Chelsea. 1
Death From Above Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I mean, they can all see how well the club's current staff has treated Costa (and regardless of what I think of him as a player, he's clearly been excellent there). 1
The Natural Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Wayne Rooney charged with drink-driving. Moron.
Jiji Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Whoops, posted in the wrong thread. I'll say this though, Barcelona are a fucking mess and need to boot this Bartomeu fuck out of the board room like the PTA just disbanded. Just non-stop falsehoods and the most blatant tapping up, thanking Coutinho in trying to engineer a move.
odessasteps Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 If he causes Messi to leave, I'd fear for his safety.
Roman Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Barcelona's just... fucked up right now. That entire transfer window was a mess. As a very minor issue in all of this, I don't really get why they didn't throw some money at Valencia to get Carlos Soler. Not that he'd be an instant superstar, but come on. Do something.
Wyld Samurai Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 I thinl Barca messed up not investing in the midfield and instead went for a second attempt at a 3-headed monster. They're old in the midfield. Iniesta is 33 yet he looks 43 and has lost a precious step.
Pete Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 USSF has refused Division II status to the NASL for next season, so they will have to drop down to Division III. Watch for the exodus...
