2016-17 NHL - Period 2

Recommended Posts

Claude Juilen fired in Boston. He'll be out of work 0.02 seconds longer than he wants to be. If I'm Vegas I offer him pretty much a blank check for 5 years because you're not going to get a better option going forward in the next few months.

Hell, if I was Detroit, I'd offer him the job.

Especially in the no-cap era, he was a GREAT owner for the Wings.

Now that I've sat through my own team's mandatory 5-day break, I really hope this is the only season this is experimented with. God, it's been like 40 months in internet time.

Gus Nyquist has a hearing tomorrow for his vicious high stick against Minnesota. He's already been informed he could get 6+.  He deserves 6-8, I would say.

The Ducks' Antoine Vermette got tossed for slashing a ref so clearly he has more discipline coming

Is it too early to start complaining about how the Rangers are only a WC team when they would be leading the Atlantic and Pacific?

Asking for.... well me

He's going to get more games than Nyquist, because he hit a ref, and not a fellow player.

The rule book says it is a minimum 10 games for hitting an official so we shall see

Apparently Detroit just needed better opposition, taking out Washington and Pittsburgh back-to-back. They won yet again in a shootout over Washington. They're unbeaten in those - only team in the league to do that.

Still in last though.

I am deeply fueled that some people had 10 years to work on their razzes for when the worm turned and the best they came up with is "The Oilers are only good because they have good players now".

I prefer to spread fear and paranoia that the Oilers better win now before McDavid leaves. Tick tock.

It's utterly hilarious there are people in the hockey media saying "no Edmonton, don't go for it now". What in the blue fuck. We lose for 10 straight years are now 3 points (depending how this Ducks game ends) out of the division lead, but yeah, NOW IS NOT THE TIME BE PATIENT.

Fuck that garbage.

Win all the games.

I enjoy that NOW is when everyone is figuring out that the playoff seeding system might not be perfect

Of course - normally I would bitch too but if you go by points - the Rangers would (assuming no upsets) completely avoid the rest of the Metro until the Conference Finals

(They would play Montreal in the first round and Ottawa in the second round - again assuming no upsets)

I am so sick of coaches using challenges that are basically throwing shit against a wall to see if it sticks. The rule should be changed where if you lose a challenge you get a 2 minute penalty for delay of game because that is effectively what you are doing.

Someone challenged an offside that was on by a foot and a half last week and I said exactly the same thing.

How is everyone sleeping on the fact that there were live penguins at the game last night?
