Why does DC continue to take on these horrible opponents (not saying Feijao is bad, but I can't even remember his last fight)? Rashad was the only fight that's made sense for him since coming to UFC, good thing it never happened.

The bigger question is why is the UFC not giving him top 10 opponents.  Everyone online hates Jon Jones, but he is right in saying the UFC isn't playing the top guys at LHW off each other.

LHW has just gotten to the point where it is shallow... between Jones beating everyone and guys getting older it's not what it once was... there's really like 5 relevant people now.

Champion: Jon Jones
1 Alexander Gustafsson
2 Glover Teixeira
3 Rashad Evans
4 Phil Davis
5 Daniel Cormier
6 Dan Henderson
7 Mauricio Rua
8 Chael Sonnen
9 Ryan Bader
10 Jimi Manuwa

Glover is getting his shot. Gustafsson should get another shot at Jones soon. Evans is injured and nobody wants to see him face Jones again in this lifetime. Davis has yet to face Jones so they seem to be protecting him as a challenger till he can. After Cormier at #5 the division REALLY drops off. Henderson looked awful till he won on Sunday, Shogun is not half of what he once was, Sonnen... LOL, Bader... LOL, and Manuwa is a joke.

Feijao is not a bad opponent. His last fight was beating down Igor Pokrajac.

He sort of is. His best win is probably King Mo, which says a lot. He has a reputation that is pretty much built on nothing.

But he is not given that Cormier's best LHW win is Pat Cummins.

The problem is Cormier didn't really need to win at LHW. The issue was proving he could make the weight cut. Bigfoot, Barnett, Mir, Nelson should be more than enough to be at the front of the line at LHW right now. There is zero to gain from fighting Feijao. Feijao isn't being fast tracked for stardom or anything. This is a nothing fight with all downside. He might as well be fighting Cummins again.

That's why he is fighting Cormier.
