Loving this draw. Groups D, E, and F are really toight and Liverpool gets a the biggest club in the world and two teams they ought to finish above. Couldn't have gone much better than that.

Another group of death for City, that is some luck. My heart goes out to them (lol).

Edit: Fixtures found here.

City looked to have gotten their groove last season, they got one win versus Bayern in the away game nontheless. CSKA and Roma are no pushovers, but beatable. Pilsen seemed more of a job squad than Roma. Tough group, that group E.

Leverkuse, Schalke and even Dortmund could very well be in trouble here. Group H could be really close.

Borussia Moenchengladbach shows how EURO League can be fun aswell, having a molten hot crowd of 50 000 at Borussia Park while advancing to the group stages. It is quite amazing how much the fans of those big traditional squad love their European club footie, even if it´s not the Champion´s League.

Congratuliations to C Ronaldo for getting the next individual award, European footballer of the year that is. Some Germans are livid about this, but I think he is the better choice compared to the others who where among the final three (Neuer, Robben). Not that it matters in the bigger picture anyway, I just don´t see any need to create drama about this.

And congratulations to Rooney who is the Three Lions´ next skipper. Quality- and experience-wise the right choice I´d say, or what do the Brits / England supporters think?

It appears as if the soda people have suddenly realized we have a history prior to 2006, which is nice (if belated). They are actually showing clips from the Metro days, are tweeting out Metro pics, and the long banned giant Metro banner made it's triumphant return Saturday to 101 (first time it has ever appeared in Harrison). FORZA METRO!!!

So, looks like they're going to change the seeding method for next year's Champions League. Instead of seeding the top 8 on rankings, it's going to be the Champions League winner, and the winner of the top 7 leagues in Europe. (assuming post 2-4 will be sorted by UEFA coefficient as normal)

So this means that Barca would be in Pot 2? They really do want groups of death, don't they?

It's about time!  They need to shake up the group stages and not avoid those matchups of teams from the same leagues.  It would certainly make things more interesting from jump, instead of having so many predictable group winners stomping the lower league teams.

This was a good article on other ways to kick the CL up a notch.

Other ways suggested....ditch away goals rule. And get rid of the stupid 5 year coefficient!

People made fun of van Gaal for getting Dutchmen in numbers a couple of years ago. Now Guardiola is on a good way getting Spaniard after Spaniard into the Bundesliga. A weird transfer, albeit it is probably meant to be a workaround after all those injuries of players who are first choices or back ups in CM-positions. Also, Borussia Dortmunds seems to try and take back Shinji Kagawa who couldn´t really get a starting eleven spot at ManU. Might be the best choice for everyone involved, especially if you consinder Kagawa is still really young and worked incredibly well at Dortmund.

Yup Kagawa is heading back to Dortmund, and for like half of the 20mil they sold him to Man U for!

Yeah he was good, but United always tried to play him on the wings instead of in the hole, where he's most comfortable.  But they've got Mata there now, and Rooney or Januzaj to slot in if need be.

Dortmund will definitely welcome him back since they lost Gotze at that CAM position.  Mikhtaryan does a good job in that spot now for them, but can't hurt to have an alternative.
