Vince claiming the Mr. McMahon gimmick is because he hates rich people is probably not entirely true.. but it does remind me of the story of how Vince would avoid the rich people at fundraisers for his wife's campaigns and would spend time talking to food service workers instead

Probably scouting for down-on-their-luck waitresses that he could possibly traffic.

Last week's We Watch Wrestling pod had Matt McCarthy flying solo and he did about 90 minutes on the doc after watching it twice.  McCarty actually knew Vince as he was a writer for the company.

I’ll hope for the best by guessing Vince was trying to get fresh steak wraps off the grill

Or maybe the rich people at the fundraisers avoided Vince.

Maybe it was gonna come up during an interview session that never happened but it is kinda interesting that they never actually mentioned the Linda senate candidacies. Especially since the perception is that the WWE went PG because Linda was running for office

Also possible the answer they got was unusable if they did ask

But yeah, Vince was probably supportive enough but also probably seeing that there were all sorts of bigwigs who’d show up for his wife but not for him

not sure which promoter would have been a bigger Libertarian if they knew about Libertarianism between Vince and Bill Watts

although it's also possible that Vince or Bill Watts would find libertarians to be a bit weird for their tastes

I find Watts to be more Libertarian he basically explains his comments in the observer as in a perfect world there would be no government interference in business (but walks back those comments by basically saying we don't live in a perfect world)

I don't doubt Vince has a good deal of imposter syndrome as a kid who went from the trailer to billionaire, a country club republican who isn't welcome in the country club.

I was was also listening to a political podcast, I won't name whom was the subject but you can guess. One of the hosts speculated that this person doesn't differentiate between sex and rape because to them everything is a zero sum game and sex. So sex is something women posses and men must take. I kinda feel this could apply to Vince.

Also Austin's comments on CTE remind me of a lot of wrestlers who seem to have a denialism about the dangers of head trauma

. I remember watching Over the Edge live and later on tape I recorded and I never noticed the Blood on the mat ,Maybe because I wasn't looking for it.

Thought that too at first, but the Blue Meanie recently pointed out that this was actually from the Brood's "bloodbath" earlier that night on the Sunday Night Heat before the PPV following the Hardyz vs. Meanie & Goldust match

Agreed and it was evident when Undertaker iwas incredulous that they took away headshots with metal chairs, then minutes later said he was concussed.  Weird shit.

Joe Eszterhas wrote an amazing article for Rolling Stone about Knievel's Snake River Canyon Jump, the title of the article is "King of the Goons".

Couldn't find a .pdf but I found this: https://www.laweekly.com/evel-knievel-and-a-shit-named-joe-eszterhas/

A buddy of mine who I didn't know had watched a bunch of the Dark Sides hit me up saying he was watching it and didn't know Owen fell and died. And since he has it himself... IIIIIII didn't mention that I thought Vince had dissociative identity disorder.

So, enough time has passed that almost everyone here who is going to watch this has watched this.  What did you guys think about it as a whole?  I thought this was about 55% of what it could have been.  It's on the positive side of good, but just barely.  There was clearly made for the general public, and not the members of this board, but I think the majority of people watching this don't have that much of an idea how depraved of a piece of shit Vince really is.  I can see someone watching this and thinking Vince is just the average business guy who has some bad shit on his resume.  The fact that the Jimmy Snuka/Nancy Argentino murder was barely mentioned is fucking crazy to me.  I get it, this documentary probably would have been completely different if they weren't up against a deadline when the most recent allegations came out, but there is no reason this should have been a puff piece even without those accusations.  I feel like about four and a half of the six episodes told stories that have already been covered and the episode and a half that actually talked about something interesting only scratched the surface.
