So this Saturday, AEW moved Collision from it's usual 8pm EST to 5pm, because there's a WWE PLE on the same day and they didn't want to go head to head with it. So WWE,  they decided that they actually quite like going head to head, so they extended the PLE pre-show to make it THREE HOURS LONG.

Now I'm pretty sure the WWE PLE pre-shows generally consist of those pre-game discussion panels that American Sports broadcasters love so much, rather than featuring actual wrestling matches. Generally, an exercise in time-filling, with minor entertainment value if you like that sort of thing. But three hours? You could watch a movie and a half in that time!

Major show pre-shows are always longer, but 3 hours is way too much. It would have started during Collision regardless so its weird to even bother extending.

There's only what? 7? matches on the main card??  So I could totally see them cramming 3-4 matches in to the pre-show, especially Tags.

I'm probably the one weirdo here that actually had no idea there was a WWE show, and figured it was cause of the Olympics - oops.

Hopefully abject pettiness and meaningless placeholder tv matches are the only Vince traditions the new regime has retained.

Is it wrong that I am perversely intrigued by a three hour ppv pre-show with no matches on it? Like no way in hell am I gonna watch it, but even their vapid time filling abilities would be stretched by this so I wonder if there hits a point where Big E and other panelists end up accidentally just shooting the shit for a bit a la Taz & Excalibur did on the departed similarly overlong AEW Darks of yore.
