John E. Dynamite Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Has anybody ever fishooked Tsuji to an extreme extent, to see how far that grin can really go? It would be a hell of a visual. Hope I get to see it at the Dome show main event
Doragon Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Might be Suwama's final challenge ever for the Triple Crown. Info is from Tokyo Sports, so it might also be another one of those kayfabe madeup stories to hype up a match. Or maybe not..

Control Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 I’m kinda surprised by how swiftly AJPW transitioned to having the young guns stable of Anzai, Honda, Ayabe, and Hayato as their top guys. Feel like this is going to be toughest on Aoyagi and Ashino, who may just be passed over (Kento is always going to be relevant).
Doragon Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 NOAH player YOICHI has changed his name again to Inamura Aki? He had so many names so far in his short career. The NOAH Roster page updated, the unit All Rebellion is above the NOAH home army Jake Lee is done with NOAH. https://www.noah.co.jp/profile/ I can't remember when but they switched to sorta silver mat canvas, and they used the White colored logo more prominently at the Budokan show. I'm surprised they never changed the name of the promotion to further move away from the past.
Control Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 I’m happy that AJPW is booking Kuma Arashi again, even if it’s in Hokuto Omori’s deadbeat stable. Dude deserves a permanent home.
Doragon Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 MUSASHI is joing AJPW. He is a former Michinoku Pro Wrestling guy. Nextream is finished. The unit lasted from 2015 to 2024, it was a tag team before ending. The participants for the Royal Road tourny are out there. 1
Ace Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 DDT Peter Pan Spoilers Spoiler Kota Ibushi is BACK in DDT. He returned as a weapon in the Dieno/Takagi match.
lostinube Posted July 22, 2024 Author Posted July 22, 2024 After Peter Pan, Despy announced that he'll be out indefinitely to get surgery. Quote ‘Everything from my back to my nipples has holes in after I wrestled Chris Brookes yesterday, but this is nothing to do with that,’ joked the Best of the Super Jr. winner before explaining that when the ‘adrenaline switch’ should be on during his matches, working around the injury was preventing that and that he wanted to be at his strongest ‘giving absolutely all I can’. Desperado cited winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship on night one of the New Japan Soul series only to lose it right at the end of the tour to DOUKI as a message that surgery was the right call.
Doragon Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 Akitoshi Saito is retiring on November 17 https://www.youtube.com/live/bckpUcHGr_k?si=I3FhjzhWHgCLhRPS
Control Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 So the N-1 is I think only four shows in and there are already two guys out with injury.
colonial Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 NOAH just announced that Yoshinari Ogawa will retire from in-ring competition because of neck issues. And Yuki Ishikawa, one of Big Japan's young DM wrestlers, retired this week at age 28. I enjoyed his run in GCW's DM tournament on WM weekend -- had a fun sprint with Kamitani.
Curt McGirt Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Man, why would you take the name of a puro legend, even if it's your own?
Doragon Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 So Ogawa is just retired. No ceremony or retirement tour or match. https://www.noah.co.jp/news/6097/ Stinger is just one guy now. Just Daga. Marufuji and Sugiura are the only ones left from the old AJPW/NOAH split still contracted under NOAH. Sugi trained in the old AJPW dojo, but he debuted in NOAH instead as a rookie. Marufuji will be retired in a few more years.

Control Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Yuma Aoyagi regained the TC, ending Anzai’s first reign. First challenger: Kento Then, the champ will face the winner of the above tournament (if I have my timeframe right). 1
Doragon Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 The N-1 Victory Finals is Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Kenoh, basically their two top guys.
Eivion Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Any watch it? Curious on how Heights and Briggs looked.

I havent had a chance but have been following the tournament, feedback with Tavion has been mostly positive but Briggs not so much. The consensus that I saw on Briggs is just that he is boring. 1
