RIPPA Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 Baseball is stupid. Here are is your meaningless playoff brackets
RIPPA Posted October 2, 2023 Author Posted October 2, 2023 Wild Card round is Tuesday, Wednesday (and Thursday if necessary)
BobbyWhioux Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 here's to getting to see the long steaming stream of piss in Rob Manfred's cornflakes that a Diamondbacks vs Rays World Series would be. Marlins and Jays subbing in for either would also be acceptable.
Contentious C Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 I'm old-school and would prefer Os/Brewers, which, as far as national TV goes, would not draw flies and would leak some urine into his breakfast as well. 1

RIPPA Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 The Brewers Brandon Woodruff will miss at least the Wild Card round due to a shoulder injury He had been scheduled to start Game 2 for Milwaukee
RIPPA Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 In other terrible news - the mother of Nathaniel and Josh Lowe is currently battling cancer and undergoing chemo so she will not be traveling to Tampa to see her sons play 2
Cobra Commander Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 things are going great for the Rays in the top of the first inning
Cobra Commander Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Rangers/Rays is a great wild card matchup for teams that slid from their hot starts
John from Cincinnati Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Much more positive mother news from the Rangers-Rays series 4
Contentious C Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Gotta be feeling like last year for Tampa all over again. Calling them "Groundhog Rays" until they score more than 1 run in a game in the postseason. 1
BobbyWhioux Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 they are no match for Bruce Bochy Playoff Voodoo, which has already cursed their gloves in keeping with tradition
Lawful Metal Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Someone pointed out that there's an ex-Astro on every playoff team. Hate them Astros til they're on your team, apparently.
Cobra Commander Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 I think this Twins/Jays series is the unofficial "successful teams that were rumored to be close to firing their managers" series because there were rumors about Baldelli earlier this year and Schneider just got there and there might not be much attachment if the Jays go down in consecutive games again
Cobra Commander Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 lots of stranded runners in DBacks/Brewers
Greggulator Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Went to the Phils tonight. Dear god Citizens Bank Park is the greatest. I think I sat for a total of one half inning the entire game. It is so wild to be at a baseball game where you get scolded for sitting. Jeff Passan tonight said it’s like a SEC football game but at a baseball stadium. It is utter chaos and the best. 1

Cobra Commander Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 the Rays are storming into the mockey void left when the Twins actually won a postseason game
RIPPA Posted October 4, 2023 Author Posted October 4, 2023 Yeah - the GREATEST TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL will be headed home April is so very long ago
John from Cincinnati Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Swapping out Berrios in the fourth when he’s dealing for Kikuchi is an over-managing classic. Fire whoever’s idea this was.
Cobra Commander Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Did they make sure Kikuchi had enough sleep last night 1
BobbyWhioux Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Jays are running themselves out of this series. And on consecutive days it's the 2nd Generation Brigade who you'd think would know better
Contentious C Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 (edited) Man, I really called that. 2 postseason trips, 2 games each, 2 runs total. Poor Groundhog Rays. Bring on Texas. Let's go Os. Edited October 4, 2023 by Contentious C 1
SirFozzie Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 I think before the season, you could have gotten really good odds on the Orioles being the last AL east surviving tean
