  3. So, Diamond owes Dynamite over a million dollars. They also have virtually all of Dynamite's inventory of comics in their warehouses. A judge denied a motion to expedite the upcoming hearing currently scheduled for the 16th. Dynamite is saying that they won't be able to make payroll this week. Further, Diamond's inventory of comics is quite possibly going to be liquidated to cover their debts, meaning Dynamite is unlikely to even get back the comics that Diamond isn't moving and not paying for.

  5. I thought this was pretty weak. The plot is all over the map, I didn't like Dominique Thorne in BPWF and still don't, and for all the potentially interesting digging into the idea of, "What are non-billionaires supposed to do to realize their dreams", it shoots itself in the foot just as often, if not more. I briefly expected the ending to be smarter - that she has the sense to realize the "AI" mapping only worked the one time because he allowed it to, and for her to say no once she catches that she's being played - but I guess you could also make the case that teenaged manipulators don't always catch when it happens to them.
  6. If Hangman is winning the belt I like the idea of Swerve and Ospreay not being able to challenge for a year. It takes a page from the Cody playbook. Plus it builds major tension between the two of them and adds to what I think is already a cool dynamic between them. As a consolation they can challenge Hurt Syndicate, because at this point a super team is the only way to go to get the belts off them (I'd hate them losing in the 3 way without getting beat), and it's a lot easier for Will/Swerve to lose to FTR or Christian/Wayne or whoever down the line. Plus Swerve still hasn't gotten revenge on Lashley and I'd like to see them revisit that before the year is out It would also put a lot of heat on the Owen next year if both enter to get the title shot. Swerve/Ospreay Owen finals? Are we booking this far out? I hope so
  7. I actually think those two reuniting as singles partners wouldn't be the worst thing, haha. Realistically, neither has really fluorished without the other, though, admittedly, I enjoyed Max Caster's Open Challenge run. Also, what sign was Tazz talking about where he said it replaced "Founding Fathers with Founding....and that wasn't very nice." It either got bleeped up here in Canada, or some background in-ring swearing got bleeped, I can't figure out which. Lastly, I'd just like to point out how insane AEW programming has been in Canada. We got Dynamite right from the start on TSN (Think Canadian ESPN), TSN also got the rights to Rampage and later Collision but would only show them when the shows were in Canada, the only way you could watch them would be to subscribe to TSN+ (So even though you have TSN through whatever your cable package is, you'd have to pay again for it!). This past January, the big cable provider Roger's announced it was bringing the USA Network to Canada but it's a Canadian version of the USA Network (LOTS of 'Highway Through Hell'!). Now USA just paid big bucks to feature Smackdown, but all WWE programming in Canada is now the property of Netflix, so even though USA is the home of Smackdown, in Canada you can only watch it on Netflix. Even more bizarre is that as soon as USA Network premiered in Canada, it immediatey became the home for...AEW Collision, running live on Saturday Nights. So the home of Smackdown in the US, is the home of WWE's rival company in Canada. And, further adding to the weirdness, the Canadian USA Network also run some WWE content shows like 'WWE's Greatest Moments: Celebrities of the 80s' and 'WWE's Greatest Moments: WCW' on Thursday nights which means on certain occasions, such as next Thursday, 'AEW Collision' is followed up by the above two WWE shows and will likely even be pre-empted by AEW going over. It's the weirdest thing ever.
  8. The book will be on all Amazon platforms on July 5th and both the paperback and kindle versions will be available to purchase.
  9. I can totally see Melvin Van Peebles taking his kid aside and saying "Let's fuck this accent up so bad on purpose! None of these dumb white motherfuckas is gonna say a word. Just watch." They come onto set. Day one finishes. Melvin looks over at Mario sideways after they cut and whispers "See? What'd I say?" And they just start laughing.
  10. So don't really know where to put this, this seems as good a place as any. On my walk today I was thinking about AEW's for lack of a better term "missing in action" list, basically those who aren't injured or climbing Everest but are under contract/haven't been seen in a while for no officially known reason. Some I assume are just having their contracts run out, some I assume aren't as healthy as they claim they are (sorry Keith Lee), some are truly confusing (Gunn Club & Jack Perry aren't my favorites but should probably be doing something)... and then there is Nyla Rose. It was another pride month come and gone where AEW seemingly forgot about the existence of Nyla which always irks me a bit, but I went to check cagematch after and saw she has not been booked by AEW/ROH all year (working the Jericho Cruise was as close as she got). It sticks out as she was regularly working ROH and dark matches right until the end of 2024, then a hard stop with 2025. I don't know why this is so but I would be lying if I said I saw the timing and didn't have a certain fear cross my mind. Let me just say that I really, really hope to see her work an AEW/ROH match soon. Please.

  12. But I bet Baltimore was prob Garvin country, sine he was over here since being on Georgia TV.
  13. He doesn't. That's why WWE's hot streak is over.
  14. The deal was this. Garvin has been presented as a rival of Flair for years on TV while also turning tricks as Miss Atlanta Lively. So the idea that Garvin could beat Flair wasn't some out of nowhere ridiculous shit. It was all how it was booked. No one else who believably could beat Flair didn't want to do the angle that was all about Fair winning the belt back at Starrcade. And then they did an angle where Ronnie didn't defend the belt until Starrcade. We saw that show on Closed Circuit at the Philly Civic Center and not only was Chicago cheering for Flair, but Philly was, as usual, Flair country.
  15. I think it was definitely initially intended as counterprogramming but just look at WWE's recent/current big event schedule: going from Saudi PPV to the GAB/SNME/Evolution triple shot a couple weeks later to their first two day Summerslam a few weeks after that. I know NXT is to a degree its own thing but I'd assume the creative side of the company is just straight up beyond overworked right now and at some point you pick something that gets the short stick. If it was my choice I'd probably just hope for the best with GAB and SNME too.
  16. Three paragraphs and each one is more ridiculous than the next. The stadium isn't going to be "less than half full" by the time July 12th rolls around. We've been through this. Plus, it's already surpassed $2.5M in tickets. Dr. Britt Baker, you just said you don't know what's going on and then follow it up with a bunch of shit acting like you know what's going on. Also, cut what losses? Tony Khan is a fucking billionaire. Like he cares. As for Triple H, they are running SD!, RAW, NXT, AAA, Evolve and some other shit that I'm forgetting. He isn't booking them all but what we do know is most of them have been coasting for about a year now at least and nobody cares because Silver Lake is just selling out every tiny bit of soul the company had left in it.
  17. I'm not sure if the fans noticed the fire, it was so close. You kinda have to actually throw it, nawmean? But from our perspective that looks pretty nasty. You can definitely think of Vince saying "GODDAMMIT PAL HE CAN'T TALK AND THAT LOOKED LIKE SHIT", and getting mad at whoever came up with it... probably Cornette. Plus it is so very not a New Generation type spot.
  18. Seems like Triple H doesn't have the time to give anyone a push.
  19. I swear there is a HBK/Lawler match in WWF where Shawn does this.
  20. TBH I haven't read the details on the case besides reading I think a Guardian article so I could see some courtroom sketches and dip my toe into just how disgusting it is. What I meant was "power and degradation" on a non-consentual level, which, in another TBH for me, I tend to associate with "non-consentual" as far as sex is concerned. I understand that everyone has different concepts of consentual sex but to me that starts to evoke a reach. (Obviously, they would have excused me from jury duty for this one.)
  21. Well do you expect them to eat Cocoa Pebbles and then go get inspired by Picasso's Brown Period and paint their apartment using human shit?
  22. It's hardly their biggest show. It's a barely half-full baseball stadium with less than half the audience of last year's All In. Hangman is not the guy and never has been and never was. Powerhouse Hobbs, Swerve Strickland, and Will Ospreay have already surpassed him. Hangman doesn't need to win. I don't know what's going on with Britt Baker, but if they have no plans to use her again, then you should cut her loose. This idea that not having her on TV or not using her until her contract runs out will hurt her drawing power or getting over if she moves to WWE is an utter fallacy. It's pure idiocy. Use that money elsewhere and let her go. Triple H doesn't have time to give everyone the big push. By the law of averages not all the former AEW people who go to WWE are guaranteed to break through, even in NXT. Look at Rusev.
  23. So, just reunite with his former tag partner? He really broke down -- like really broke down -- the match in Way AEW Edition. He says he had Hanger watch Cody Garbrandt vs. T.J. Dillashaw in UFC as an influence, for example. I don't want to give away what Phil went out of his way to get printed but lets just say he gives his personal insight into AEW style and psychology within matches, not only in this chapter but throughout the book, and it's really fuckin' cool.
  24. gotta put those Father/Son tag belts to use. I expect the Women's tag titles to be announced soon, maybe at All In? I could see it being a big announcement the week after maybe.
  25. Given the infantization of modern culture, of course you have adults eating those cereals. Goes along with reading comic books and watching cartoons and wrestling.
  26. Pretty good show with the knockouts action being the highlight. Enjoyed the tag, the chain match, and the Tessa/Indi set up. Cardona/Edwards was shockingly short for being billed as a first time ever match. Nic/Wentz was a solid main event match.
  27. As someone who watches very little Puro and doesn't have much of a body of work to personally pull from for comparisons, I thought Kota looked amazing last night. I imagine a lot of North American-onlyish fans felt the same way. Those corner strikes just felt different, they had a sense of realism I haven't seen since Ilja Dragunov before his injury.
