T'Challa was great in Civil War (and in his brief minutes in Infinity War and Endgame), but Ryan Coogler did a better job with the character than the Russo brothers did.

Ash/Xia was short but fun, as was Leon/Angels. Jake Something turning heel felt strange timing wise as he's felt on the verge of being a breakout babyface a couple times but they never went all the way and then turn him instead. On the other hand, I'll definitely get behind the babyface Steve Maclin run, assuming this time it lasts. Good match with Kazarian. Main event was a blast, very unique match with a lot of unusual pairings throughout.

Don Callis said the other week that he'd used up his last favour from the NJPW office. So suddenly only being able to get his guy a title Eliminator, rather than a title Shot, makes complete sense.

It kind of seems like AEW is getting paid for this. Or Arlington is giving them a great deal on renting the building for 5 weeks in a row.

You'll probably disagree with me on Guardians of the Galaxy better under the Russos but Cosmic MCU with the exception of Thanos isn't at all my thing.

The Russo Brothers did every character better than their respective franchise directors, imo. Captain America and Iron Man were perfect from their first film which makes it impressive what the Russo Brothers achieved. Standouts under the Russos: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor more so Avengers: Infinity War and Thanos.

Her outfits and hairstyle are much, much worse.

WWE has the Toyota Center wrapped up. The only time AEW has come they went to the Fertitta Center, which was totally acceptable. They've had shows in the "Houston area" but they've all been like three hours away. It's completely disingenuous to call Rosenberg the "Houston area".

I haven't set foot in Houston since 2010 and haven't lived there since 08; what would be the best AEW-sized venue there now? I haven't gotten to go to any of the Austin-area shows because I live on the south side and can't drive, and none of my frienda can commit to take me to the northern suburbs for a show that will end after bus service (from Cedar Park to my area) does, but I suddenly realize that I legit have no idea what the right venue there would be.

There was a moment where Schiavone described it as "....like a...large crow bar" and Taz chimed in as though to correct him before settling on "yeah, that's exactly what it is". 90 seconds later Taz was mumbling that he knew the babe for this incredibly large pry bar and it was killing him that he couldn't think of it. The starters mostly shot bad (Porter and Murray were a combined 7-27!) but Denver's bench in particular was brutal. 0-9 for three from the entire bench, 4-27 overall, just nine total points. I was at work and didn't see the game, so I'm wondering if Jokic struggled with only three assists or if his teammates just all bricked every brilliant pass. What a strange series so far. No idea what will happen in game 7

This isn't a UFC Gym, IIRC the Apex was built as their Thunderdome equivalent for closed-set shows during early COVID. As for the card, it's a good thing they bailed on Memorial weekend and get 2 extra weeks of build, because lord knows they would have struggled to make a meaningful card if they were actually going the day after KAQOTR. Without addressing spoilers for next week's taped shoe which sets up one more match, I'm guessing we get either a Women's Championship OR Tag Team Championship match (the latter being obviously the Good Bros. as challengers) but not both, and one more non-title match to move stories forward.

We had the discussion at work recently where I went through all of hitchcock’s movies and gave quick letter grade to all of them. I think most of the British stuff is largely in the C range, except the original Man Who Knew Too Much and The Lodger (off the top of my head).

I watched a movie tonight so I missed most of the basketball. Tuned in to see Denver down by 27 shooting 33%. Congrats to Minny on responding. That's why the games are played. Not sure what to think about Game 7.
