Ace Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 AKA "GODDAMMIT, one of these guys will win an important fight so I can get some money out of this mess." 1
epwar Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Given their roster, Rampage vs. M'Pumbu is actually a really good fight for them to make.
keith_h Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 They really should have just booked Rampage/Mo in the 1st round... these things have a way of NOT working out.
Zero Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Yeah, I'm afraid we'll never be seeing the 2nd round to this tourney. 2
epwar Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Indeed. Bellator never learns so expect King Mo to get KO'd again or Rampage to pull out with an injury. In other news, Chris Leben just retired on the MMA Hour.
Guest Edwin Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 If Rampage/Mo doesn't happen now, then they should just forget about it. It will be funny if this tournament leads to Newton/Mo III.

You would think by now promoters would learn you can't predict this stuff. How did that Overeem/Fedor fight go in the 2nd round of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Gran Prix... oh wait... yeah it didn't happen. Just make the match-ups you want in the 1st round. 1
TheVileOne Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 IMHO, you can't "build up" fights in MMA. It just doesn't work. Strikeforce made a lot of concessions and deals to try and "build up" Alistair Overeem vs. Fedor Emelianenko for the heavyweight title. Hence why Strikeforce would go years without having their champions defend their titles. That strategy failed. Sometimes if you have a fight, you just have to make it. Amusing that Mo gets another 4-man tournament. Newton now has to win 5 fights in order to become champion.
Guest Edwin Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Tatame's reporting Shogun/Hendo II at a Fight Night card in Brazil in March. http://www.tatame.com.br/shogun-fara-revanche-contra-dan-henderson-no-ufc-de-natal-em-marco/
BNosanchuk Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Thats cool. Guess that means big Hendo re-signed and will have a couple more UFC fights.
glfpunk Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 If you have two irrelevant guys and you make them fight each other, that doesn't make the winner relevant. I see what you're doing UFC.
LethalStriker Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I see Bellator clearly trying to setup Rampage vs. King Mo to be the co main event of their proposed Alvarez/Chandler PPV card.
Zero Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I think Shogun deserves somebody a little better then a guy coming off 3 straight, but I'm still pumped.
JoshEngleman Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I think Shogun deserves somebody a little better then a guy coming off 3 straight, but I'm still pumped. Hendo is actually ranked higher than Shogun but I know what you are saying.

Guest Edwin Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I think Shogun deserves somebody a little better then a guy coming off 3 straight, but I'm still pumped. The UFC's just milking the chance of setting up a possible rematch of a great fight which they'll be able to build up easy now that they at least have the chance to do it before either guy loses anymore fights than they already have.
epwar Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Ross Pearson is out of his rematch with Melvin Guillard. Michael Johnson fills in.
ultimoDANK Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 The Ultimate Fighter Canada vs Australia? Anyone...?
Guest Edwin Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Ross Pearson is out of his rematch with Melvin Guillard. Michael Johnson fills in. This is a good winnable fight for MJ and much better for him than fighting Nurmagomedov. The Ultimate Fighter Canada vs Australia? Anyone...? I watched the first episode and can't remember a single thing which isn't a good thing. I know the coaches are uninteresting. I know I'll watch episode 2 once I get some free time off on Sunday.
glfpunk Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Can't wait for that fight. Glad it will be on that card.
Craig H Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Seems like a long time considering Vitor was already waiting and Silva barely laid a finger on Weidman.
Elsalvajeloco Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Seems like a long time considering Vitor was already waiting and Silva barely laid a finger on Weidman. IIRC, Weidman may have a mensicus injury from the fight.
smitlick Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I've got TUF Aus vs Can setup to watch but was watching TUF China first. Some terrible fights so far. Especially with the yoga guy.
