glfpunk Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Do you think Trestman did a good job? Do you think he's going to improve?
Dewar Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Trestman has had one season with a defense that fell apart and his starting quarterback missing large amounts of time. To decide he's not as good as Lovie based on one year is a knee-jerk reaction at best. To say he should be fired after one season is ridiculous. I think a coach at any level of sport has to be a special level of shit to be fired after one season. 2
RonL21 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Romo out for the year w/ a back injury according to Adam Schefter.
Elsalvajeloco Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Can you flex a game BACK OUT of a SNF slot?
Raziel Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Romo out for the year w/ a back injury Of course, I'm all now."ITS A TRAP!!!" mode. Fucking Eagles will take it easy and lose now. EDIT: I'm also finding no one else running that story.
glfpunk Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I don't think so. I just think it takes some being honest with yourself and realizing what your eyes are seeing. If you don't like what you see you can't be afraid to cut ties because if you don't you're going to have at least another wasted season which includes off season signings and a draft. I also don't buy being without Cutler as a negative. McCown played better in his stretch as a starter than Cutler did any time.

I also don't buy being without Cutler as a negative. McCown played better in his stretch as a starter than Cutler did any time. And Cutler came back and they got battered. The point isn't that Trestman should necessarily be fired. It's that people wanted Lovie fired. And they fired him. And the new guy did worse. So as a shithouse fanbase full of whining bitches, this is interesting to me.
Dolfan in NYC Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 EDIT: Spoilered for size. Someone call someone else Hitler, so I can close the thread please.

They just got completely worked only two weeks ago by the Minnesota Vikings.

I think Godwin's Law is being extended to Terrorists and Communists now. That count? EDIT: I have to ask- who exactly do you think the Eagles are? Take it easy? Jrag Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Do you think Trestman did a good job? Do you think he's going to improve? What? Are you paying attention? The Bears defense is getting old fast (as you mentioned), but that's not even the half of it. It was pretty much a lost season for the defense from the jump. Tillman, Briggs and Melton (pro bowlers), Melton's backup, Urlacher's replacement, Melton's backup's backup all went down. So not only are they older, but even the young core members missed the majority of the season. What i'm seeing on the other side of the ball is obvious improvement across the board. 2013 - 27.8/g 2012 - 23.4/g 2011 - 22.1/g 2010 - 20.9/g And the 2013 number isn't inflated by otherworldly defensive/special teams TD numbers, because those dudes aren't playing. So, yeah. He did a good fucking job. It's not even disputable.
glfpunk Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 So that was a lot of words none of which answered the question.
Craig H Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I don't think so. I just think it takes some being honest with yourself and realizing what your eyes are seeing. So as a shithouse fanbase full of whining bitches, this is interesting to me. Beyond looking at a record, show me how Trestman did worse. Instead you'll just be a lazy fuck and ask that I answer your insane questions first. And people wanted Lovie gone for a number of reasons. Team record doesn't equate quality of said team.
Raziel Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 There we go: http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/10187713/tony-romo-dallas-cowboys-miss-rest-season On an unrelated note, is the Neckbeard Twitter account up, because that's gonna be firing up with Orton starting Sunday.
Craig H Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 So that was a lot of words none of which answered the question. Yes, Trestman did a good job. As for if he will improve, I think it remains to be seen if the defense will improve. The offense already has improved under Trestman.
Jrag Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 So that was a lot of words none of which answered the question. Are you talking to me or some other person who didn't just directly answer your question?
Death From Above Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I think Godwin's Law is being extended to Terrorists and Communists now. That count? DVDVR Godwin's Law is when some guy has the audacity to find a woman attractive, and some nerd thinks that's a reason to make fun of him because liking girls is for weirdos and stalkers. 1
Ryan Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I can tell who the Lions and Vikings and Bears fans are in some cases on here. Are there any Vikings fans lurking?
dogwelder Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I think a coach at any level of sport has to be a special level of shit to be fired after one season. Well, Snyder fired Marty Schottenheimer after one season where they won eight of the last eleven to finish 8-8. Of course, that's Snyder.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I can tell who the Lions and Vikings and Bears fans are in some cases on here. Are there any Vikings fans lurking? Gonzo, but he only shows up when they're good. Like Banky.
Jrag Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 For the record, I liked Lovie and still do. He is a good coach and whoever hires him will be instantly improved. To say that Trestman has somehow underachieved or failed is so laughably wrong, though. Forte is better, Cutler is better, our O-line is better etc etc etc. Fuck. It's not some mystery as to why.
Ryan Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 They should re-hire Lovie as their DC; then they'll definitely go 16-0.
dogwelder Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I WANT REX Sexy Rexy? You can have him back!
