Shartnado Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Off the top of my head, I think Dustin Rhodes has the distinction of being the only wrestler to have been a part of WCW and ROH 6-man tag team champions, more than 30 years in between, no less. 2
Mike Campbell Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Over/Under on how long until Sammy turns on Dustin? I get that he's been gone for a bit, but he's so much better as a heel. I could see him turning on Dustin when their tag title challenge goes unsuccessful, and then him being the guy to take the strap off of Briscoe. 1
DreamBroken Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Stacked full two hour episode of Honor this week opening with Mark Briscoe defending the world title against Johnny TV in a solid match. Blake Christian vs. Lio Rush was good, lots of cool spots throughout. Athena going in to a feud with Abadon should be fun. Had me wishing they'd add an additional Halloween Havoc-esque ppv in October with a double main event of Athena/Abadon and Mark/Mortos, since the next segment was Mark challenging the Beast Mortos which is setup for next week. Nice quick promo from Athena later on, laughed at referring to Melissa as "not Lexy". Always good to see Shibata in action. Harley Cameron looked good against Viva Van. Serpentico/Griff was a pretty great blowoff to their long feud/angle over the stolen mask. Anthony Henry & BEEF with a fun squash over Dante Leon & Vinne Massaro. BEEF was on fire. Moriarty/Andretti was a quick pure match and Atlantis vs Robbie Eagles was a very solid TV title defense. Six man titles main event ruled, love the chaotic ending brawl with all the run ins. 1
TheVileOne Posted August 18 Posted August 18 The smart thing to do would make this the final year of ROH. Merge all the titles. Keep the pure title and make it an AEW title. ROH adds nothing and has no value anymore. It's time to let it go and put it out to pasture.

just drew Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Johnny TV vs. Mark Briscoe was excellent tv wrestling. Well paced, built to a finish. Reminded me of a 1993 Raw main event, and I mean that as a compliment... 3
DreamBroken Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Fun opening 8 man tag coming off last week's chaotic ending, followed by a pretty good trios match with Cage of Agony over the masked babyface team. Abadon squashes Alejandra Lion in a minute. MxM vs Pillars of Destiny was pretty fun with an amusing backstage segment setting it up. Solid setup for Angelico/Moriarty for the Pure title. A bunch more squashes in between, Marina Shafir over Tiana James and Trish Adora over Erica Leigh were highlights. Lio Rush vs Tony Nese was a solid longer match. Great main event from Mark Briscoe and the Beast Mortos of course. Lots of action with this week's episode going just over 2 hours 1
Curt McGirt Posted August 26 Posted August 26 They AREN'T GETTING RID OF ROH. Quit trying to will it into existence by saying so. 4 1
DreamBroken Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Nice opening proving grounds with Athena vs Aleah James. Liked Athena's triple powerbomb in to the finish. Good post-match feud continuation for Athena/Abadon. Billie laying out Abadon but Athena thinking it was Lexy was amusing. Sidney Akeem debuts in a fun little match against Johnny TV. a brief Murderhawk appearance in a squash. Mina vs Rachael Ellering was good stuff with a post-match setup for Mina vs Taya and furthering Rachael/Harley backstage. Tons of squashes follow from Top Flight, EJ Nduka, Evil Uno, Josh Woods, Leila Grey, & Blake Christian. Woods wins the quickest. Leila looked great in her match. Ishii/Daivari was solid. I didn't expect Moriarty/Angelico to happen so soon after it was setup, but a very good Pure title main event. 1
DreamBroken Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Decent openers from Rocky Romero vs Aaron Solo and Big Shotty/Comoroto. Gigi Rey looked good in brief squash loss to Rachael Ellering. Red Velvet vs Lady Frost was pretty good stuff. Nice quick squash from Diamante after, setting her up as Red's next challenger. A mixture of stuff just kinda there in the middle. Griff Garrison vs Angelo Parker was short but solid as was Shibata vs Josh Woods. Very good main event from Mina vs. Taya 1
DreamBroken Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Atlantis Jr. vs Peter Avalon opens this week in a solid proving grounds. Aminata vs. Harley Cameron ruled, loved the post-match backstage bit with Rachael Ellering mocking how Harley acted towards her last time. Fun squashes from Top Flight & the Outrunners, with the Outrunners making peace with the Infantry after. a Robyn Renegade squash is always great, she's awesome. Good to see Willie Mack back, good match vs Exodus Prime. Lots more squashes in between. Nice main event of Lio Rush v Rocky Romero. I think this is supposed to be the end of the separate Arlington sessions. 2
HarryArchieGus Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I really appreciate all your reviews DreamBroken. I don't have much interest in watching anymore, but I like to know what they're doing. Curious of that Aminata-Harley bout. Two of my faves. Also happy to hear Willie Mack is back in the fold. It's interesting how this AEWROH seems to have less board interest than the weak Sinclair era. I wish they'd fold this lousy brand so Athena would be pushed to be on proper AEW TV again. Billie Starks too. What a ridiculous waste of two of the most talented women in the company. The experiment seems to have failed. Miserably. 2 2
Curt McGirt Posted September 14 Posted September 14 One of these days Athena is probably gonna show up and murk everybody. I hope. STOP THE ATHENA~! 4
DreamBroken Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Red Velvet vs Allysin Kay is a pretty good 5 minute proving grounds opener. Bunch of squashes from Gates of Agony, Preston Vance, John Silver. Rachael Ellering looked good in hers over Maggie Lee. Decent little tag from the Infantry vs Angelico & Serpentico. More squashes with Anthony Ogogo and Brian Cage. Solid main event from Dustin & Sammy over the Dark Order, with a post-match attack from Cage of Agony. This week it's back to a just over one hour episode. 2
DreamBroken Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Nice Action Andretti/Tony Deppen opener. Abadon squash in a minute followed by Brian Cage in action and a fun Athena/Billie tag squash that ends with Abadon chasing them off. Liked the little backstage face off promo setting up Red Velvet vs Diamante. Johnny TV vs. Komander was pretty good with some fun sequences throughout. Pure title main event of Moriarty over Preston Vance felt super quick, but the Pure Rules timer on screen was all over the place suddenly showing 15, then back to 12 at the end but it never went that long.
DreamBroken Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) Short Honor this week with just 4 quick matches coming in at under 40 minutes. Outrunners over Infantry was a fun main event. Enjoyed the Athena/Lexy/Billie backstage seg. Brian Cage vs Atlantis Jr for the TV title is added to the WrestleDream Zero Hour. Afterwards they aired Joe/Kobashi with new commentary from Ian & Caprice. Thought that was the end of the show, but the main event was actually Mark Briscoe defending against Matt Taven, solid little title defense. Edited October 4 by DreamBroken
DreamBroken Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Gabe Kidd vs Anthony Henry was super solid opener. This is where Henry tore his bicep, sad that he'll be out again for some time. Shibata kills Brandon Cutler, a billie Starkz squash, & an Archer squash were all fun. STP vs The Infantry was a solid quick match with an interesting post-match seg. Red Velvet vs Diamante for the women's TV title ruled. Very good, hard hitting match, though an odd finish with Diamante in control but deciding to get DQed. Like last week airing Joe/Kobashi, this week we get KENTA vs Danielson from 2006 but no new commentary this time. Incredible match, love it. Another solid TV main event as Mark Briscoe defeats Josh Woods in proving grounds.
DreamBroken Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Angelico & Serpentico vs. Derek Dillnger & Ren Jones actually got a bit of time to it. Yuka Sakazaki vs. Viva Van was a lot of fun, packed in 5 mins of action. Solid squashes from Nick Wayne, mXm collection, & Atlantis Jr. AR Fox vs Jack Cartwheel was a nice quick match. Liked the backstage bit with Rachael and Harley, and the video promo from TV Champ Brian Cage "too Swole to Control". Komander defeats Willie Mack to become #1 contender to the TV title, short but good. this week's classic replay is Briscoes vs. Bucks vs. SCU - Ladder War from Final Battle 2018 in anticipation of next week's Ladder War on Dynamite. Pretty good main event of Athena defeating Lady Frost.
DreamBroken Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Gates of Agony vs. The Infantry was a good opener. Reyna Isis vs. Viva Van was fun, nice that both of them got entrances. Rocky Romero beat Brandon Cutler pretty quick and a first tag squash for Lee Johnson & EJ Nduka. Great to see Leyla Hirsch coming back with a return promo, one of my favs. in celebration of Athena's record reign, this week's classic replay is the night she won the title vs. Mercedes Martinez at Final Battle 2022. The celebration segment follows but Billie walks out on Athena, then Abadon crashes the party. next week Honor will be on Halloween so I thought maybe they'd announce Abadon/Athena already but nothing was made official yet. Pretty good main event of Brian Cage defending the TV title over Komander after Komander won the #1 contendership last week. 2
DreamBroken Posted November 1 Posted November 1 It's Ring of Horror! The 3 Hour Halloween Special Opening with a Righteous vignette/promo about coming for the tag titles was different, with a nice backstage promo from the champs later in response. Later on they brawl after the Righteous squash to further the issue. After all that, things continue with a backstage attack on Dustin & Sammy. I dug the 'throughout the show' angle here. Preston Vance & Peter Avalon made an interesting team, up against the returning JD Drake & BEEF in the opener. Liked tying in the happenings from last week's Rampage with JD & Beef. I love JD and Beef continuing on the angle while Anthony Henry is out, seems to work perfectly. JD & Beef made a good team and the crowd was getting into it by the end. Johnny TV squash of Deonn Rusman was pretty good with Rusman getting a couple decent hope spots. Followed up by a Gates of Agony 1 minute squash. Reyna Isis is back after her win over Viva Van last week, for a fun 5 minutes with Lady Frost this week. Reyna comes off like a star from entrance on. Matt Taven vs. Aaron Solo in a 5 minute Pure Rules match felt random but I like the setup for Taven/Moriarty, with Taven coming for the one ROH title he hasn't won. Ishii vs Josh Woods was solid. Premier Athletes attack after and O'Reilly makes the save, followed by a Top Flight trios squash and a nice Billie Starkz squash of Blair Onyx. This week's Throwback Replay for Halloween is Curry Man vs. Jay Lethal from This Means War in October 2005, that match went a lot longer than I remembered, going 20+. Really like the Infantry joining up with Shane Taylor Promotions. Thought they were gonna turn down the offer and wasn't sure about a full on heel turn but Trish Adora stepping up to cement it ruled, she is greatness and has deserved something more for awhile now and should provide a welcome refresh for the Infantry team overall. Good match vs. Angelico & Serpentico to have this play out. Diamante with a quick 1 minute squash, Dark Order beat Iron Savages, and Komander beats Ari Daivari in what was the longest match of the night up to this point. Halloween main event was absolutely epic and lived up to the hype/hopes for it. the Ring of Horror match was a Chain Match with weapons. Lots of awesome spots, tables, tacks, etc. Athena busting out the skewers to draw blood from Abadon was an amazing visual as the initial small line of blood runs down Abadon's face but only seems to power them up. Athena using a glass bottle followed by the chain-assisted O-Face over a row of chairs was a crazy looking finish. Every time they do an Abadon Halloween Deathmatch, it always ends up one of my favs of the year and this ranked right up there with the original Britt match and last year's Shida match. This ruled. More Abadon Always. I can only assume they'll next start building to Athena/Billie II as the Final Battle one year later. 1

I'm curious of this Beef/Drake team and Solo-Taven (Pure Rules). Trish Adora worked sorta heelish on AEWTV, and I liked it. She's improved greatly over the last year or so. I totally agree with her deserving more. 1
hammerva Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Also it seems that Athena has brought back the spinner belt

HarryArchieGus Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) I really dug the JD Drake/Beef v Avalon/Vance opener. Drake/Beef is a helluva Meat lovers team. Beef consistently impresses. He's the new American Dream. It's getting late, but Vance still looks like a guy with some potential. The Sammy/Dustin promo was fun. Dustin sometimes veers in odd directions, but his intensity is so good. Taven v Solo was a nice little showcase to set-up the Taven v Lee Pure Title bout. Very strange to see Matt Taven as a babyface. Even Stranger that it seemed to kinda work. I caught the end of the RIghteous squash. That wood block/assisted chairshot thing is pretty fuckinfantastic. Neat. Okay, let's see what a Righteous v Sammy/Dustin looks like. Ishii v Josh Woods was fun. It was neat to see an Ishii TV showcase match. Feels kinda rare. I only caught a little of the flashback Curry Man v Lethal bout, but wild seeing/being reminded what an awesome wrestler Christopher Daniels was. Especially loved his Curry Man. I feel the need to say this as I loathe and criticize his brutally bad 'Interim EVP' character weekly. Skimmed the Billie Starkz semi-squash, but great to see her again. She still looks like a star in the making. I expect her to be somewhat of a breakout star for the new ROH TV show. The Infantry v SAP was a terrific little tag match. This heel persona works for Bravo/Dean. This was by far and away the best Infantry ROH match I've seen. Shane Taylor looks so much cooler in his manager's gear. I wish he would wear that kind of looser pant when he wrestles. The Komander v Davari match was the best Davari bout I've seen a long while. Mostly a showcase for Komander, but a very good one. The Athena v Abadon main event was fun to skim. I loathe the long set-ups for table spots and the other bullshit in these plunder bouts, but that wasn't a problem with ffwd option. Abadon seems to have significantly improved since the last time I saw'r her. I completely bypassed a lot of stuff on this show, but what I did see I really liked. The talk of TV combined with this week's show have me thinking they're starting to figure out a path for this company. Chris Jericho's last ROH World Title run ended up being a lot of fun, maybe because of that, I'm kinda into Jericho as the ROH World Champion. Edited November 1 by HarryArchieGus 2
