AxB Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 A streamed game, in which everyone plays a Kobold. And not in the sense of having to take it as their race/heritage and then choosing their class. They're playing the base 1/8 CR Kobolds (with infinite respawns) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrdhz52wrDw
AxB Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 D&D licensed Lego coming April 1st: https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/dungeons-dragons-red-dragon-s-tale-21348 Yes, that's the UK site. I'm sure it's on the American one too.
AxB Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Anyone like Star Trek, play D&D, and have shitloads of disposable income?
SirFozzie Posted April 6, 2024 Author Posted April 6, 2024 2 out of three ain't bad. Too bad it's the third  1
Contentious C Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 If I had a million dollars to spare, I'd: - Riker my way into my chair (I'm nearly as tall as him anyway) - Spend the entire game trying to flirt with Deborah Ann Woll - Prove I know absolutely nothing about Star Trek Seems like a good way to blow a mil for charity.

AxB Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 https://www.gameinformer.com/2024/05/14/the-art-of-the-new-dungeons-dragons The first real good article previewing the new 2024 edition main rulebooks. Although mostly it's about the art in the books. The Unicorn is totally dead Ha Ha.
tbarrie Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 I just Googled "When in 1974 was D&D first published?" and it seems it was late January. I missed the birthday party!
SirFozzie Posted June 25, 2024 Author Posted June 25, 2024 I'm D&D Years old (It came out in January, I "came out" in August.

SirFozzie Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 So, going to be a busy buying season for me in the next few months: Â July-August: Starfinder 2nd Edition playtest, PF2E remake Player Core 2, Deadpool Plays the Marvel RPG, X-Men Expansion (Marvel RPG) September: D&D New Edition PHB
jaedmc Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 I've got a group I've been running D&D for over the last few years and I don't think any of them really care about moving on to the next edition. From what I've been told the new edition is still very compatible with 5e, but none of my players really talk about it. I think there's a sense of just "let's stick with what's working." 1
Death From Above Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 I'm honestly pretty surprised they're rolling out 6th considering the mass commercial success of 5th. It's not nearly as crazy as Warhammer 40K rolling out a new edition every 3 years, but it's still wild to me.
SirFozzie Posted July 3, 2024 Author Posted July 3, 2024 well, it's more like 5.25 edition.. Everything that came before for 5th is still valid. It's just changing a bunch of things about how some of the classes work..
Death From Above Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 Hopefully INT won't be a dump stat anymore for literally every class but Wizard?

Also, it's been ten years since the 5E rules came out. I believe that's the longest D&D has ever gone without a revision to the main rulebooks.

tbarrie Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 In my Saturday D&D game, one of the PCs dragon-suplexed an actual dragon. 2
AxB Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 So thanks to D&D Beyonds mishandling of the jump from 2014 5e to 2024 5e, you can now create this Multiclass: My friend, he made a 12th level Rogue/Rogue, that has proficiency in literally every skill, and 7 expertises.
SirFozzie Posted October 2, 2024 Author Posted October 2, 2024 They announced today a pre-painted miniature set of Baldur's Gate 3 characters. I am THIS close to breaking my "Do not preorder any painted minature" geas..  (it's not out until 1Q 25) https://www.polygon.com/pre-order/457032/wizkids-baldurs-gate-3-minis-dungeons-and-dragons Â
tbarrie Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 I was told there was a new edition of Ars Magica being crowdsourced: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/atlas-games/ars-magica-5th-edition-definitive/ But it appears it's an expanded and prettied up printing of the fifth edition rules, not a new edition. I may still buy it. Â
blitzkrieg Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Cryptozoic and DC are doing a 40th Anniversary Kickstarter for the DC Heroes Role-Playing Game. I own the third edition book(not included) and a random assortment of sourcebooks but having not played a RPG campaign in decades I can't really go and justify backing this. I wish they had a digital only option but apparently they couldn't get the rights for that.
supremebve Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 There is a humble bundle of $888 worth of Pathfinder books for $30. I'm really tempted to buy it, but my turn as DM ends next month and I really don't see myself using any of it.
AxB Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Just played the final session of my Saturday campaign. We started on February 27th, 2021, at first level. Finished on March 1st 2025, at 20th level. It got pretty epic out there at times (we were taking it in turns to DM, so I managed to both play a character from 1st to 20th, and run my narrative arcs as Dungeon Master with my succession of BBEGs). Final Battle had two PCs down making death saves, and one a single failed CON save away from turning to stone. But they made it out alive and victorious anyway. 1 1
SirFozzie Posted March 3 Author Posted March 3 Not sure if this should go into this or the regular vidya thread, but NWN (the original one, although the enhanced edition) just got a DLC release of a whole new campaign if you can believe it. PLus there are indications on Steam that NWN2 is also going to get an enhanced edition
