Fat Spanish Waiter Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 It boggles me that Tara Strong has now done four versions of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl over what? 20 years? Crazy. And awesome, given that TAS is different from Beyond is different from Beware is VERY different from Super BFFs. Also, the notion of Manchester Black's accent being awful is kinda funny given that Robin Atkin Downes is, y'know...English. He didn't do his own voice though, he did a shit accent that no-one forced him to correct because they didn't know any better. Like when Jax Teller butchered the cockney accent on Green Street.
Matt D Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Brave and The Bold was a real feast or famine show. Episodes were either great or terrible. I think that comes from the team up format. Yeah but you hate Brave and the Bold Aquaman.

Yeah but you hate Brave and the Bold Aquaman. Whahuh? How? It's the best take on Aquaman... Hell, maybe ever.
Victator Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 It is a bad ripoff of Marvel's Hercules and is really grating in extended doses.
Burgundy LaRue Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 You'd be stuck on yourself too, if you controlled 70% of the world's surface.
Eivion Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I know its only another month and half to two months away, but damn is the wait hard, especially now that I've seen a trailer.
RandomAct Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I know its only another month and half to two months away, but damn is the wait hard, especially now that I've seen a trailer. Wow, this looks incredibly non-intelligence insulting for something on Nick. I may have to go out of my way for this. Also, I've gone back and started going through Justice League again on Netflix. The "Maid of Honor" episodes from Season 2 is shockingly grown up in tone. More so than any other episode I can think of in the series.

If you're not already aware, it's the sequel to the (excellent) Avatar: The Last Airbender.I say sequel. It's a series about the next Avatar set after something like an eighty year time jump. The first season was amazing.
Cliff Hanger Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Finally getting 'round to the second half of EMH season 2. My feelings are mixed; I really think it's not a bad show, it just suffers in comparison with what came before. I certainly think the dictate for done-in-one stories hurt it; someone said on the old board that the Yellowjacket story should have been spread over two or three eps' worth of subplot before becoming the main focus (and no doubt it would've if Loeb hadn't come in) but I don't think there's anything genuinely weak about these particular episodic stories. They're actually pretty good, just not what we were trained to expect. (Granted, I'm only up as far as "Emperor Stark" so if it goes to shit thereafter I don't know yet.) 1
Playa Shunna Ver 3.0 Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Flashpoint was pretty fucking good. Definitely one of the more emotional stories. 1
odessasteps Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 RIP Michael Ansara, the voice of Mr. Freeze from BTAS
Burgundy LaRue Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Think of it-- to never again walk upon a summer's day with a hot wind in your face and a warm hand to hold. Oh, yes, I'd kill for that. RIP indeed, to the voice of the most tragic villian in the DCAU.
odessasteps Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 The Pathos of the BTAS rogues gallery is amazing: not only Freeze, but also their version of the Mad Hatter, the Clock King, and others.
Eivion Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Had no idea he passed away. Loved him as Freeze. Its still voice I use when I read freeze in comics. RIP
Burgundy LaRue Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 The Pathos of the BTAS rogues gallery is amazing: not only Freeze, but also their version of the Mad Hatter, the Clock King, and others. Indeed. Between Mr. Freeze and Clayface, it was easy to see things from the bad guys' perspective.
odessasteps Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 As a nerd who often had unrequited crushes on pretty girls, BTAS Jervis Tetch is #1 in my book for empathetic villains. "Would not, Could Not"
Rev Ray Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 That's sad. Mr. Freeze had one of the top 5 eps in both BTAS and Batman Beyond: http://youtu.be/pjmEeJiBlhw
Burgundy LaRue Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Meltdown is a fantastic episode, and really brought Freeze back to the sympathetic character we first met in B:TAS.
Rev Ray Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Is the DC Nation Lois Lane short a new one or have they run them before?
MikeRose Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Did anyone have any love for the Wonder Woman DC Nation Shorts? I liked the animation.... 1
Eivion Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Haven't cared for the Wonder Woman shorts. Loved the Lois Lane one though. Watched Flashpoint Paradox last night. Thought it was good though not necessarily in the top tier of DC animated films.
MikeRose Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I just thought that it had an interesting look. I liked it.
Eivion Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I can see that. I found the look interesting as well though its not for me personally. I know most hate Ultimate Spider-man, but I really loved today's episode for the focus on Stan Lee's character, especially with him breaking into old school Marvel narration half the time.
