cool arrow
Don't feel bad, I'd never heard it until South Park. I still prefer Cartman's version to Gaga's. Also, I suspect Mike Patton made a deal with the devil at some point, because he looks 20 years younger than everyone else in the band.
Burgundy LaRue
Montel Jordan's cover of What You Won't Do For Love from NY Undercover. That is fucking sweet. Why was this never released on A Night At Natalie's? This version by Jessie Ware is the bee's knees, too.

cool arrow
I have little use for Prince or REM, but take Michael Stipe out of the picture and replace him with Warren Zevon, and you get this: http://youtu.be/61PgHobvCYs
J.T.
Is it a cover if you cover your dad's song?
cool arrow
Yes, and it's great. Here's another cover of the same song, in a totally different vein: it's a capella, except for Mike Keneally's guitar solo.
Ace
Is it a cover if you cover your dad's song? I'm not as familiar with the original as the cover, but I never noticed how blatantly it sounds like late 80s Alice Cooper.
J.T.
Not sure about 80's Alice Cooper, but there is certainly quite the 80's Hair Metal influence in the guitar stylings.

Kyle Casey
Here is probably my favorite cover of Enjoy the Silence: http://youtu.be/uinh17pK7uE Maynard James Keenan and Steven Drozd covering Rocket Man...Didn't expect that...
Kyle Casey
Also, this happened and it was awesome. I will not hear otherwise. The Jeff Healey Band also knocked White Room out of the park. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay8Vs78Ydd4 I can't find an HD quality YouTube vid of the scene from Roadhouse where Jeff just goes apeshit while they are playing an instrumental version of White Room. This is what happens when you go through a thread in reverse. Here's Demons and Wizards (A mix of Blind Guardian and Iced Earth) covering White Room http://youtu.be/-ZOD30KHGDU I could go on and on with these, but I think 6 or 7 posts in a row of these might be a bit much, so I'll just do more later

Kyle Casey
I've always thought this one was better than the original: http://youtu.be/HVc8hXNoSyM And, as the resident Jethro Tull mark around here, I would be remiss if I didn't include this:
Rev Ray
I heard this last night as I put that hammer down and gave it hell as I was heading through the Adirondaks. I could barely get any channels and I hit a program called the Latin Alternative on a public radio station. They were playing a bunch latin cover songs and they played this. It was pretty trippy: ] And there's always string quartet covers of Slayer songs: Living Colour covering Sunshine of Your Love A girl's chorus covering Rammstein. So creepy, they used this version for a movie trailer (I think the Possessed)
