One more day (today) i believe. I checked Fandango and 1 place showing it but none of the places last week around here. sadly, Zander Cannon, creator of the awesome kaijumax comic, couldnt get a ticket to see it in MSP. J.T.
I am lucky. The Pyramid 24 in Hanover, MD near the Maryland Live! casino has to do a lot to draw customers from the more modern theaters in the area, so they tend to get in the weirder limited releases and it is the only theater I know of that shows the full slate of iive Fathom Events. odessasteps
I was happy i had choice of Wilmington, Christinina or Bel Air (fresh off NXT). I think when i saw it Wed, maybe 1/2-2/3 full in Wilmington.
J.T.
Our theater was packed. My daughter went nuts and it looked like a lot of parents were re-living their childhoods with their own kids in tow! It was a great night! There is also a Medieval Times near this theater so Hanover is like Geek Mecca.
S.K.o.S.
Ouija: Origin of Evil has an early 88% on RT. One blurb touts the "unexpectedly lovely autumnal photography"!
J.T.
It's up to 90% now. The first movie was formulaic, but not completely horrible. The trailer and Michael Bay being an executive producer make me wary of this sequel, but Mike Flanagan (Oculus) as the director gives me a bit of hope that it will be good. I'll wait for the bulk of the reviews to hit on Friday to see what's what.....
J.T.
Forgot to mention this. I watched the first episode of Channel Zero Season One over the weekend. So far, so good. For those of you that forgot, it is the new serial anthology on Syfy with plots based on Creepypasta stories. This season is adopted from Candle Cove and next season (already announced) will be based on the No-End House stories. Brian Russell, the author of the No-End House stories, is supposed to have a production credit as well as a writing credit for Channel Zero Season Two.

The Unholy Dragon
I was super into the first episode of Channel Zero. Some cringey dialogue but mostly it hit way better than I expected it to. In for the season for sure and honestly wish it were a 22 episode season with discrete arcs.
J.T.
Ouija is now at 81% Fresh. Since she is a complete fraidy cat, I am pretty sure my girlfriend will want me to take her to see the fucking Madea Haloween movie instead of Quija. I'll have to wait until next week and go see it after work. Also Channel Zero comes on tonight on Syfy.

She is the reason that Tasha Smith continues to get acting jobs.. On the brighter side, it is nearly Halloween so it will be the only time of year when I deliberately tune into TVOne to watch THE FEAR FILES~!!!! piranesi
Whatever you think of Tyler Perry, and I always found the stage plays of Madea to be pretty hysterical, God Bless the man for continuing the basic human necessity of dropping a Halloween or monster themed movie into a franchise. Abbott and Costello salute you, sir. Earnest salutes you, sir. Ok, those are the only two I can think of. But I would classify this in the same category as something like Elvira: Mistress of the Dark. You know it's going to be terrible but it's HALLOWEEN FILTERED!1!!!!
J.T.
I love Perry's stage plays. They have far more substance than the movie adaptations. I guess I should be thankful that the horror themed comedy out this Halloween is a Madea movie and not another installation of the Scary Movie franchise. You don't want to see The Babadook fart and then get hit by a poorly CGI'd bus? I guess there's no accounting for taste.

While wondering how Chris Rock, by far the most talented of the group, got talked into doing such dreck even beyond some of the garbage already on his resume. Then realizing divorce proceedings and child support are real for even the best among us. He got kids!

Beginning with the opening line: "Camera pans across a filthy living room filled with empty fast food containers to reveal Lebron van Helsing (Adam), idiot great-great-great-great-grand-nephew of the original Abraham Van Helsing." put that in a bowl of water and it basically writes itself in under 20 minutes. It's the shrinky-dink process of script writing. Budget: $160 million
Curt McGirt
http://dailygrindhouse.com/thewire/hells-assassin-definitive-jason-goes-hell-interview-adam-marcus/ Leaving this here because I think it's a really cool read from somebody most horror fans have an abject hatred towards for burning them on two of their favorite franchises. Adam seems like a solid dude who has been misunderstood because the films he tried to make went shithouse for reasons beyond his control, and now he's trying to make good with his new production company. Nice.

Nice. I don't know why that dude's indignant about people pointing out Goes To Hell ripped off The Hidden. It doesn't make a shit what he was actually inspired by; The Thing was a shape shifter that could turn into anything in addition to jumping from body to body. The infected vessels in Goes To Hell were merely your average piece of trash being worn by Jason as fleshbags; no shape shifting involved. In execution, yes, buddy; sorry, you did The Hidden as a Jason movie. I don't care what your intent was and it was preposterous either way. Curt McGirt
Yeah I think he was trying to be fast on that one and acknowledge a film he held in higher regard that was similar. You know what? That's pretty wack, fuck that guy. Hope his production company puts out something with substance, though. And thank you to Fluff. It's late, it's Friday (now Saturday), I'm drunk
