Hail Sabin
New Day can't be as racist as Pretty Ricky was. That was somewhere between Jar Jar Binks to Transformers twins to Birth of a Nation on a racism scale.
The Nature Boy
Vince grew up in the rural South, he had to have known black people growing up. Why is he so terrible at depicting them in his program? Of course, "grew up in the rural South" probably explains a lot about Vince's racial views.

scraylo187
Apparently the original pitch was 'black nerd trio." No WAY Vince was going to let them run with that.

Phantom Lord
Woods = Rev James from Blues Brothers. Langston = Rev Brown from Coming to America. Kingston = Rev Al Sharpton? MLK? Don King? Help me out here people... Rev, Creflo Dollar.

Help me out here people... If Big E is Rev Brown, Kofi should do a Prince Akeem gimmick. At the very least, it might mean a James Earl Jones cameo in a Wrestlemania skit.
ebbie
Fuck you guys. Coming to America is one of the best movies ever made.
The Nature Boy
To be fair, this is a better gimmick for Kofi than "smiling Jamaica enthusiast who has cool moves."
ebbie
And Prince Akeem did to a better job than Bruce Willis dealing with that terrorist. Just sayin'.
cwoy2j
Fuck you guys. Coming to America is one of the best movies ever made. It's too bad that Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche are dead b/c some kind of Coming to America sketch with the Duke Brothers, JEJ as King Joffer and Kofi as some kind of African prince who has just rediscovered his royal roots would rule. It would go over the heads of about 99% of the audience but at the very least it would make me laugh my ass off. And much like Vince, I don't care what anyone else finds funny as long as it amuses me.
cwoy2j
Sounds like the American dream tbh As a black guy, APA era Ron Simmons is kind of how I live my day to day life. Except for being an FSU fan.
Patrick B.
Considering HHH and Steph did the "one-dollar bet" thing a few weeks ago, I don't think they mind references that go over people's heads.

Brian Fowler
You quickly grab a marker and add "SUCKS" to the t-shirt. Then you offer to buy him a beer.

MGFanJay
Fuck you guys. Coming to America is one of the best movies ever made. Very true - and Big E paying homage to it is great. Roman should be sponsored by Soul Glo.

MGFanJay
Wonderful. Now I we get a Big Guy vs. Big E McDowell's vs. McDonald's skit on...Superstars since it might approach the greatness of the Rybaxel breakup without the writing team getting involved.
AxB
Big E's father is a preacher isn't he? Maybe it was his idea. Man, one chance to have a Wrestler use "Son of a Preacher Man" as entrance music, and they don't take it?
MGFanJay
Okay show. I dug the New Day, although them being angry militants had a better chance of getting over past the fairly low ceiling this gimmick has. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2014/11/wwe-sd-11-28-14.html
