cubbymark Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Lucha Underground might be the only way Pentagon Jr would get his win back over Zack Sabre Jr, and with Zack supposedly being based out of LA now, he'd fit in like a glove.
Tromatagon Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Yeah, I'd totally sign that dude. I just don't know if I'd have him in a new gimmick or not, everything I could think of kind of sucks (like a chivalrous knight or something)
Curt McGirt Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Just have Cueto do the same "I want the best competition for my temple so I signed this guy from Britain" deal. It writes itself. Also, I totally forgot about the Marty/Sexy thing. Skeleton humping... well, that would work for him being such a creep.
CrazyMax46 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I'm excited...and confused. And conflicted... I think a long post is coming soon...
Tromatagon Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I would bring him back as like the worst heel
CrazyMax46 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Here's a question for you all. What are the odds of someone like a Zach Sabre Jr. coming into LU? He's a solid worker. Would you all be down with that it would there be too much of a culture clash?
thecubsfan Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 In general, they've said they'd fly people in from US, Mexico and Canada, but those based in Europe and Japan are outside of their budget. Sabre's moved to California (I think) so that's not a problem. They would've seen him look good in PWG, so that helps. The biggest obstacle is working around his NOAH schedule.
Raziel Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Honestly, Japanese schedules are probably the easiest to work around. Most tours tend to be mid-late month outside of massive seasonal tournys, and I recall LU tapes early months.
CrazyMax46 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 I think I was more referring to style. Would it work in a Lucha environment? Or would he not fit in? Or what about someone like Mark Andrews?
Raziel Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Submission/kick heavy offense with aerial moves, I'd say yeah, Sabre can adapt stylewise pretty easily. If Mundo could do it.. So, when does Rey show up? Mid season?
Jiji Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Dave said early on in the Observer and he'll be the #1 face on the roster. I'd love to see what he has against Muertes and eventually Pentagon.
Tromatagon Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Dave also said the show wasn't coming back
Tromatagon Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 The UK guy to bring in is Ospreay IMO 1
thecubsfan Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Submission/kick heavy offense with aerial moves, I'd say yeah, Sabre can adapt stylewise pretty easily. If Mundo could do it.. So, when does Rey show up? Mid season? Episode 1 of the season.
Shawn411 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 They gave Adr salary to Rey? What's up with ADR ? Can AAA and LU sell Rey merchandise after he made a deal with Masked Republic ?
Jiji Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Dave also said that they'll be lowering the production cost in ways 'viewers won't notice'. Then he goes on to say that it will also likely mean fewer episodes. I'LL NOTICE THAT, DAVE.
Raziel Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 What's up with ADR ? The short, and accurate, answer to this is.. He's a dick.
CrazyMax46 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Dave also said the show wasn't coming back I don't think he actually said that. Unless someone can find that quote. In which case please continue reading below this likely quoted post to find said quote.
Tromatagon Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Well it was peppered with a lot of I thinks and not likelies. "Still no news, this doesn't look good" pretty much every week, lumping them in with TNA in multiple discussions, etc. He has always been getting a lot wrong about LU is more my point. Like even fucked up taping results when Cubsfan had them right, but I wasn't about to correct that shit and get banned. Which is fucking weird when he is friends with Konnan and also managed to physically get someone's actual contract for the show
thecubsfan Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Dave also said that they'll be lowering the production cost in ways 'viewers won't notice'. Then he goes on to say that it will also likely mean fewer episodes. I'LL NOTICE THAT, DAVE. I know the original plan was for them to do 40 in season 2 (which is basically what they did this season), and the lowering the production cost was all about the cost per episode not the total cost, so I'm thinking there's a pretty good chance they're still doing. But not just saying it in the press release is odd.
OSJ Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I think I was more referring to style. Would it work in a Lucha environment? Or would he not fit in? Or what about someone like Mark Andrews? The wonderful thing about LU is that it isn't all strictly Lucha style. Pretty much anything goes, which makes for some real interesting matches. I'm sort of sorry to see ADR go, as the guy can be a completely amazing heel, but I guess he's no joy to work with behind the scenes. I would really hate to see Rey become the main focus of the show, he's really pretty limited to being a face, and there are other guys they have that are much better and a lot more versatile.
cool arrow Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 The news* that they're actually going to put Jeff Cobb on tv this season makes me happy. I was excited when they signed him, then annoyed when he only did dark matches. (*Assuming, of course, that it's true.)
Tromatagon Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 He had a couple really fucking great dark matches too
