*Taped for Xplosion: The Wolves def. Sanada & Tigre Uno to retain the tag team titles

TNA Impact Wrestling - Airing June 12, 2014 from Orlando, FL

*Eric Young opens the show, coming to the ring in his gear. Young says in three days at Slammiversary, it will be the biggest match of his life. Young calls out MVP, Lashley, & Kenny King if MVP can not pay attention to Dixie for a bit. MVP comes out and says he doesn't take orders from Dixie and isn't paying attention to her as EY has his attention. Young says he knows King and Lashley will get involved. MVP says he's more of a world class athlete than Young and he will beat him. Young says all he wants is the respect he's earned and request their match be a fair fight between them. MVP says Kenny King can be hard to control and Lashley is pretty composed but it's hard to guarantee that. Young said he's talking to MVP man to man and that getting attacked from behind is garbage, not wrestling. Young will do absolutely anything to make sure that doesn't happen. MVP agrees to let Eric pick the stipulation for their match - if he can beat MVP, King, and Lashley all in one night. King argued that Young couldn't beat two of them. Young agreed to try. King called him stupid and doubted Young so they made it that he only has to beat two of them. MVP agreed that Young has to beat two but says he's not concerned as it's a no win situation. Young doesn't think MVP is man enough to take the world title from him. MVP announces his first opponent is Bobby Lashley right now.

*Bobby Lashley def. Eric Young with the running powerslam. After the match, Lashley beat on Young some more until Samoa Joe made the save. Joe and Lashley brawled until Joe got the upperhand and sent Lashley from the ring.

*Magnus and Bram came out for a promo. Bram introduced Magnus as the most brutal man he knew grewing up. Magnus said that Bram promised to bring back the old Magnus. Magnus said he was trying to be everything they wanted like that watered down, suit wearing joke. Magnus says his last six months makes him sick so there's no more being what someone else wants him to be. Magnus says together they are unstoppable. They start talking about Willow until Willow comes out. Willow says he's glad Magnus found himself and at Slammiversary, "they' will take him out. Magnus asked if he meant Willow and his alter ego. Willow said they are ready to fight. Bram argued that Willow and Jeff Hardy are the same person while he and Magnus are two very dangerous people. Willow says of course they are the same person but in his corner, he will have someone to instill fear in them. Willow says they will take him out as he introduces Abyss. They get into a brawl where Willow and Abyss clear the ring.

*Knux (w/ The Menagerie) def. Robbie E (w/ Jessie & DJ Z). After the match, Robbie ran away scared of clowns.

*Eric Young def. Kenny King after the Piledriver

*Ethan Carter III & Rockstar Spud came to the ring where three chairs were set up. EC3 said the fans deserve the truth and introduced the returning Brooke Tessmacher. EC3 said this is a realm of honesty and asks if she still had a relationship with Bully Ray. Brooke said no. EC3 asks if it ended because of Bully's late nights with other women. EC3 says Bully threatened to put Brooke through a table which she denies. Spud says Brooke has a secret and she doesn't have to protect Bully. Spud says he has the results so she doesn't have to lie. Brooke doesn't know what he wants to hear. Spud announces that they know Bully is the father. Brooke called him insane and says she hasn't been pregnant. Spud claimed to have pictures and showed a side by side of Bully and a baby. Spud says she won't keep the truth any longer. Brooke got upset and got in Spud's face. EC3 decides maybe they should do what Bully didn't and teach a lesson in respect. Bully runs out and chases them from the ring. Bully asks EC3 how his head was after bleeding last week. Bully reminds EC3 of the table with his name on it. Bully turns to Brooke and says they haven't seen each other in awhile. Bully calls her an awesome girlfriend and says they had a great time together. Bully says he's in a different place now but he hopes she has an awesome life as they hug. EC3 says his pandering sickens him and challenges Bully to a tables match at Slammiversary. EC3 said if Bully wants to put Dixie through a table, it will happen over his dead body. Bully questions "over his dead body". Bully says normally he'd jump at the chance for a tables match but since EC3 said over his dead body and they will be in "Carter Country" in Dallas, TX, Bully makes the challenge for a Texas Death Match which EC3 accepts.

*Gail Kim def. Madison Rayne & Brittany to become the number one contender to the knockouts title after Eat Defeat on Brittany. The Beautiful People did commentary and got involved in the finish. During the match, Madison and Brittany got in to a fight over Brittany trying to help her. Angelina distracted the ref while Velvet tried to use the hairspray on Gail but she ducked and sprayed Brittany leading in to the finish.

*Eric Young def. MVP via DQ when MVP used a steel chair. Lashley & King jumped EY during his entrance and MVP used a chair after dominating in the ring. MVP took the mic and said Eric doesn't look like a winner right now and he doesn't care what stipulation he picks as he will take the world championship. MVP holds up the title as he poses with Lashley and King. They leave. Young crawls over and grabs the mic. Young says it doesn't look like it, but he won. Young says MVP couldn't beat him fairly so now he gets to pick: Eric Young vs MVP in a Steel Cage Match at Slammiversary.

So, wait, Abyss is a babyface again?  DIdn't he just turn heel like, two or three months ago?

(Sorry, haven't been watching Impact much of late.)

Yep turned heel on March 9 at Lockdown helping Magnus beat Joe, turned face again on Impact 4/24 when Magnus blamed Abyss for his losing the title to EY and "fired" him. MVP then said Abyss could have a roster spot if he beat Magnus, which he did by DQ.

I love how the show opens with MVP saying Eric Young can pick the stipulation for their match if he can defeated himself, Lashley, and King all in one night. But then no, the heels back off the challenge and agree that he only has to beat two of them. Then in the next match Lashley defeats the world champ clean - despite the fact he is not getting a title shot anytime soon and is the second guy in the pecking order of his faction. Then in the main event MVP gets himself DQ'd on purpose which grants Young the ability to pick their stipulation. MVP proclaims he doesn't care what stipulation Young picks - then why didn't he just let him pick one earlier, have his guys do a three on one beat down with a chair THEN, and save us a lot of time and trouble? I mean seriously, who writes this stuff?

Fantasy booking TNA is such a joke, but seriously if they were going to run that angle with "beat all three guys" they could have done something much easier:

Lashley gets counted out after trying to spear Young, EY moves and Lashley eats the steps or something instead.

Young gets a flash pin on King.

MVP gets DQ'd (but not on purpose!!!). Could have done the exact same series of events, tweaked ever so slightly, and it would have been a billion times better.

What is TNA's taping schedule these days,  Seems like they're taping farther ahead these days.  Did they stop doing live shows every other Thursday?

(Haven't actually watched TNA in awhile, obviously).

Why isn't Samuel Shaw in a match? I mean, he beat Anderson twice now right?

Also, are we getting Joe/Lashley II? I actually enjoyed their first match, hopefully Joe gets his win back.

Anderson beat Shaw in the "committed" match at Sacrifice where he was sent off in the padded van.

Yeah they stopped doing live every other I think when they stopped touring and started staying in Orlando again. Now they're done in Orlando again for the time being. These tapings lead them in to Slammiversary in Arlington TX. Then they do a live show + tapings in Bethlehem PA followed by 2 or 3 days of tapings in New York that will take them in to August.

God.  Just reading that gave me a headache.

Oh it's even better than that, so he could be used as the plot device for their flimsy storytelling, Abyss was declared to be no longer on the TNA roster despite still being listed on their website as on the roster as TV Champion no less.  And while he was no longer on the TNA roster he received two opportunities at the World Title, a four-way and an entry into the number one contender's battle royal.  And he got a new mask that looks even more like Kane's.

I've watched like 2-3 months of TNA programming the past couple of weeks up to about half-way through Sacrifice so I'm just going to put all this here.

This company has never been worse.  They're just so directionless and creatively bankrupt.  And they're back to gunning through everything so it just comes off as going through the motions.  Like whistling past the graveyard if you will.

Eric Young brought back the monster and his stated goal was to get rid of the monster.  He got into a four-way World Title match with the goal of stopping the monster.  He lost.  Like twice really.  Abyss had him clearly beat before Magnus stopped Abyss from pinning Young so he could drop the elbow on him for the win.  The next week Young wins a gauntlet battle royal and demands the title match he felt he deserved for over a decade despite just getting one the prior week.  He wins the title to end the show and the next week they're referring to EY as the guy that proved all the doubters wrong as if there was any time to develop any doubters in the short time he was number one contender.  So instead of spending the month building up EY as a credible challenger for the main event of the PPV, they spend the month trying to justify making him WHC for a PPV match which is even less of a money match now because he's going in as defending champ instead of lovable underdog challenger who's got the chance to end the night getting the career defining storybook ending victory.

Bully Ray spent most of last year hitting everyone with hammers and earlier this year was trying to set Ken Anderson on fire while threatening to do the same to his wife and newborn children.  Then he helped the babyfaces win control of the company.  Babyfaces that were losing fair and square by the way.  Now he's goddamn Captain TNA and everybody's best friend and endorsing Eric Young and saying how great his ex is all the while threatening to put his boss, a non-wrestling mother of young children, through a table.

Velvet Sky went from timid abused girlfriend to standing up for herself as someone who was once on top of her division to turning heel out of nowhere so she could essentially go back to being a sidekick.

Madison Rayne returned and went after her former friend Gail Kim.  They barely explained why their friendship broke down despite having footage of Kim rejecting Rayne at one of those ONO PPVs.  Now in a couple of short months they've united again because The Beautiful People are back together.

Gail Kim beat Lei'D Tapa and Tapa had to leave TNA.  A stip Kim just made up in a promo before the match.  Then the next week on Xplosion, Kim beat Tapa again so the commentators said Tapa really had to leave TNA now.

Knux went on this personal journey back home.  He had a duffle bag.  His ex yelled at him.  Some pinball machines were ruined because of a flood.  He talked to his dad who said all these flooded pinball machines were the family business.  His girl twirled fire in a bar.  He decided to go back to TNA.  She decided to go with him.  She was unhappy about his plan to pick up Crazy Steve and The Freak.  Now he leads the poor man's Hobo Army.  It feels like they skipped some fairly important parts of his story.  Like the part where it was necessary to go on this personal journey.

Storm turned on Gunner.  Storm broke a beer bottle over Gunner's dad's head.  They never bothered to give a health update on Gunner's dad so I assume he's in a coma.  These two guys have basically killed each other for months in front of audiences that don't care and Gunner has also seemingly beaten Storm at every turn.  He's not on the upcoming PPV.  Gunner also gave Storm the tag title shot briefcase which has probably been forgotten like Gunner's dad.

MVP's back.  Everybody, he's back.  They played that track so many times in the UK, seemingly back to back.  Now he's yet another heel GM, how fucking whack.

Bringing in some black guys and foreign talent is good.  Putting all the black guys together as heels and marrying the guys that can't speak English to each other isn't really helping with the criticisms of the 'cism.

Brittany.  Tigre Uno.  I hope someone didn't hurt themselves coming up with these names.

I love heel Dixie Carter.  I think she's hilarious.  For about a max of 5-7 minutes per show.  30-45 minutes a show not so much.  Her and MVP seemingly took up like half of each of those UK Impacts with multiple in-ring and backstage segments.

Remember during his first stint with TNA how Bobby Lashley won a tournament for a World Title shot and Bischoff fired him and he never got his shot?  No?  Just me, huh?

Jeff Hardy's probably their biggest star and they're letting him run around cosplaying as himself from over 15 years ago.  Not to be triangular but a segment with Hardy explaining Willow and why he's let it lose wouldn't have been a bad idea.

Also, Jeff Hardy can't go overseas so they had to write him out before their European tour.  Could've had Dixie suspend him (which she did later anyway).  Instead they had him quit.  Overlooked by everyone, there was this kid sitting at ringside with his face painted up by Hardy.  He got to see his favorite quit, give up, declare that he lost his heart and didn't have any fight left in him.  That kid died a few weeks later.

I forgot to mention that TNA's TV ad for Sacrifice, which I assume aired nowhere but during TNA programming, is focused on MVP.  MVP didn't have a scheduled match and doesn't even appear on the show in any capacity.

I had no idea TNA and Jeff Hardy murdered a child.

Really, that's no worse than WWE advertising R-Truth on their posters and commercials for Hell in a Cell last year.

It's fun to imagine Velvet's reaction to this statement as this:
