2014 NBA OFFSEASON

Yeah, but if winds up playing them at power forward, that's only a slight improvement.

EDIT:  If you want to know what pain is as a basketball fan, it's knowing that 46 players in the NBA last year took at least 600 shots from further than 8 feet out, and Josh Smith was 46th in shooting efficiency from 8 feet or more out with a minimum of 600 attempts.  And Brandon Jennings was 44th.  *Brick Brick Brick*

SVG will let Greg Monroe sign for the max with Atlanta without matching.  Then, he's going to trade Josh Smith to Boston for Brandon Bass and Kelly Olynyk.  Then, he will work out a sign-and-trade of Isaiah Thomas for Brandon Jennings.

Your starting lineup for next season will be Thomas, Meeks, Singler, Olynyk, and Drummond.

ESPN free agency show is depressing as hell. They keep repeating the same stuff over and over.  Pretty boring.

So, it's like every other ESPN show?

Pretty much, only they're on a couch now.

Gortat going back to Washington. They had to keep him.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA

Marcin Gortat has agreed to a five year, $60 million contract extension with Washington, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

John Wall actually broke the story ahead of Woj.

That lineup may still win more games than last season.

It would be less talented, but it would probably fit together better.  And, you know, not have the least efficient guy at shooting from 8 or more feet out and the least efficient two-point shooter in the league teamed up together.

If Lebron signs for less than Max, after Wade and Bosh take pay cuts, and Carmelo signs less than max - what does this mean for future player negotiations? When the best player in the world isn't making max dollars, why should anyone else?

Kobe is the only one looking out for the little man.

Using the Spurs model (Pffft. to that one SA around here.  Don't remember the rube's name), $12M for Wade is right.  Parker will make $12.5M next year.  Likewise, $11M for Bosh closely compares to Duncan's $10M.

Bitter?

Also, No analyst has Wade or Bosh going that low. More like 15-16 instead of 20 a year.

It is annoying that on Sixers forums the main conversations are the 2015 draft. I get the approach though and will be patient. It certainly could be worse though. Could be signing Meeks for 3 years 19 million. Sorry Detroit fans (fan) but misery enjoys company.

Yeah its a good strategy apparently. Get enough of them and 1 will eventually pan out. I love how the last 2 drafts here have gotten A grades from most of the talking heads. Yet the team is now much worse than it was 2 years ago. Only the NBA. At least the upside is there now.
