NikoBaltimore
I sense a couple days off for him. If you have OnDemand, there's likely some goodness to check out. Quick check on mine shows a few movies and Lucha Underground. Plus the schedule that was mentioned earlier.

Curt McGirt
Eras change. Think of the possibilities! It's weird, I checked the channel's webpage for the schedule tonight and it's not reading the same as on my guide. I think it's because they realized their idea of showing New York Ripper at 2 PM in the afternoon was... um... untenable. EDIT: Well the website was right, and they did play New York Ripper... at 2 PM... in the afternoon... HOW?!

Curt McGirt
Meanwhile, Oxygen is reduced to the TNA level of television that won't die despite its quality. NikoBaltimore
HOLY SHIT~! FIVE DEADLY VENOMS IS ON TOMORROW NIGHT~! There's been so much kung fu on the network that it was easy for me to take it for granted. All it took was to see the commercial for tomorrow and I immediately set my DVR. I think I have Crippled Avengers already, but Five Deadly Venoms is an absolute must-see.
Curt McGirt
Yeah, I think I missed Five Deadly Venoms too. Depending on plans tomorrow I might miss it again. I just turned on Maniac and they LITERALLY CUT IT IN HALF. No beach scene, no hotel scene, no titles, no car scene. Straight to the nurse in the subway. Wowsers. Also, if you were Caroline Munro, would you even deign to open your door to a guy who looked like Joe Spinell, much less go on a date with him?

Yeah, I am having issues with the pre 9PM edit policy. I'd prefer to see Maniac, New York Ripper and Dolemite in all of their wicked glory, so either show them uncensored at all times or only show them after 9PM. And Jesus, Caroline Munro discussion is a whole 'nother thread. Rodriguez totally needs to find a clean print of Star Crash.for Grindhouse Theater.
Curt McGirt
I've never seen Starcrash so that would be awesome. Make it a marathon with the two Hercules films Luigi Cozzi so embarrassingly/hilariously scraped together right after. They could even throw in Alien Contamination, but me, I wouldn't go that far. What a piece of shit. At least you can laugh at the Hercules films.

Yeah, if you are going to do Caroline Munro any justice then it would be The Golden Voyage of Sinbad Starcrash Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter Maniac Don't Open Til Christmas (she has a cameo playing herself!) Slaughter High Howl of the Devil Faceless No one stays sober after the Starcrash drinking game. Everytime Munro has a wardrobe change, you have to take a shot. Curt McGirt
Slaughter High was actually on Chiller last year, got a good laugh out of me as hadn't seen it since basic cable in junior high. And for some insane reason I actually have Faceless on DVD. While we're on the subject of horror vixens, that also has Brigitte Lahaie in it. Rollin knew how to pick 'em. The Starcrash drinking game reminds me of an ill-fated night years ago where I decided to make one up for Bad Lieutenant... by myself... with vodka... "I've done... questionable things." J.T.
Brigitte Lahaie was pretty hot back in the day. I remember her brief cameo in Calvaire when the DVDVR Movie Club picked it for discussion. Yow! *BEGIN PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT* WE DO NOT ADVISE DOING A GOOGLE SEARCH ON BRIGITTE LAHALE UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE A NOT SO FRIENDLY CHAT WITH THE CRANKY PEOPLE IN HR~! Curt McGirt
You might not want to do one at all. According to Wiki: She began her career at age 15, when legalization in France had changed, with a minor role in Africa Erotica (1970) and performed in pornographic films from 1976 through 1980. So yeah. Don't worry about watching The Grapes of Death or anything after, but... EDIT: BTW, when they mention "legalization", they mean legalization of porno films in France. I have no idea about age of consent in France back then and I'm not looking it up. EDIT II: I had my copy of the Immoral Tales book about Euro sexploitation and horror flicks in the back room and consulted it. Porno legalization was in '75, and she started in '70, so... J.T.
Crippled Avengers gets better every time I watch it. The Black Cat, Opera, Deathdream triple feature is being billed as the El Rey Giallo Weekend. MOTHER FUCKING RATS, NIGHT OF TERROR IS ON GRINDHOUSE TONIGHT~! SET YOUR VCR'S~!!!! IIRC New Line has the US rights to the Street Fighter movies, so the TV showings would be limited to Turner networks like TNT.
J.T.
That must've happened recently because the entire Street Fighter catalog was on El Rey no more than two or three months ago. Rodriguez worked out a deal for the entire SB catalog, so we should be seeing more SB classics pretty soon. Rumor is that he is working with the parties that have the rights to Golden Harvest's archives, but I am not sure if that is true.
Neil Koch
Oh, ok. My bad then. Most pf the GH movies are owned by Fortune Star, who tend to supply subpar materials at exhorbitant prices to US distributors.
J.T.
Next Thursday's Flying One Arm Kung Fu Theater is a double feature tribute to Pei-Pei Cheng (Come Drink With Me & Golden Swallow). I've seen Come Drink With Me a billion times on El Rey. I love the movie, but Rodriguez has the whole Shaw catalog now. He needs to get The Jade Raksha and The Shadow Whip out of the vault.
