hobo joe is going to win by being the only one with the courage to put Despicable Me at the top of his box office list.

It's not too late for you to put Despicable Me at the top of YOUR box office list! *flutters eyelashes seductively*

Slightly embarrassed to still have 0 points. I left Fall Guy and IF off my box office list and I put Planet of the Apes just 1 spot ahead of Furiosa. I'll get lots of points eventually.

Since this thread is my annual window into movies I'd never heard of, I'm going to ask here: why is there a movie out called "The Garfield Movie"? Haven't there been multiple Garfield movies already? What makes this one THE Garfield movie?

This one has Chris Pratt voicing Garfield

Red Letter Media has a good video on the death of cinemas. (I would include a link, but I can't get the forum to cooperate with me on that front.)

It's a long watch, around an hour, but they make some good points.

For me, as much as I love the big screen experience, my patience with people gets lower and lower as each day goes by.

So if there's a chance for me to bypass a theater and watch at home, I will do so.

Not to mention the expense of going to the movies.

Sorry to derail the box office thread, cheers!

Since the deadline is this Wednesday, I am going to try to have my entry in by tonight.

The Garfield Movie is actually making more money than Furiosa right now. I know Fury Road wasn't a smash hit at the box office, but still, I never would've expected that.

6 of the 9 entrants left Garfield off their box office list, so maybe some of you guys thought something like this was possible?

This makes me so mad to read that. I'm going to buy an IMAX ticket to see Furiosa again smh.

Wasn't the uproar several years after it was confirmed they were doing a Furiosa film that it wasn't going to Charlize Theron and were going with the origin story instead? Plus, they may have missed the window on the buzz with it being almost 10 years later. Granted, I know Fury Road took forever to film cause George Miller was busy destroying the country of Namibia. Thus, he was in no hurry to do another one so quickly.

Interesting only 3 entrants listed Garfield. I left it off as I wasn't confident enough to place it and animated films tend to be a killer in the Summer Blockbuster Movie Pool. Look at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem getting 95% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. I did right leaving it off.

Long delay didn't help, a near decade long wait with Fury Road out in 2015 nor a Mad Max movie without Mad Max, least I don't think he's in it. Prequel as well. Only ever seen Fury Road.

Somebody send a video file or a link to both Mad Max and The Road Warrior to Natural please

I need to see them. It was funny that I went into Fury Road without seeing any.
