ReiseReise
I would argue the Scottish League is even more competitive, more close finishes, twice as many champions.
odessasteps
It’s also interesting to look at some of the leagues down a level or two where often, a country gets one CL slot and that team can become a behemoth in that smaller league. like Qarabag winning 9/10 titles in the last decade. odessasteps
Maybe people should not have penciled in England cruising to a 5th champions league spot next year.

Pete
Way cool: Sela (Newcastle's usual shirt sponsor) donated their space to RNID and provided young deaf fans with special haptic shirts that vibrated with the crowd volume intensity at big match moments. Also, Burn signed "love the fans" after his goal.
odessasteps
Guess we know who Pete has on ignore. worst own goal: Luton or Burnley? The Burnley one is just bad for the keeper.

SirSmUgly
I thought Barca/PSG was the right game to watch, and it's been wild, but it's got nothing on Dortmund and Atletico trading the aggregate lead back and forth.

Pete
Silva with the single worst PK since Yann Kermorgant in 2010.

Another Leicester City player missed a penalty from the same shootout but the team rightly consoled him and left Yann Kermorgant alone. I haven't seen Silva's yet but it must be bad getting that comparison. Sorry Manchester City lost, Pete.

The Natural
The FA and Premier League have reached an agreement which means FA Cup replays from the 2024-2025 season will not take place from the first round onwards. Bullshit that.
odessasteps
The whole scrapping replays in the FA Cup thing is not as clear cut as it appears. part of me does think the calendar is too overcrowded and settling matches with penalties is not that horrible. but it’s been done so the greedy teams at the top of the premier league can play lucrative friendlies or bloated champions league matches. AxB
re: The Coefficient. If you're a regular big 4 team in the EPL, the last thing you want is another Champion's League spot for the league. It would threaten the monopoly. The Champion's League Big 4 are basically in a 4 horse race to win the league, the last thing any of them want is a fifth contender to worry about. odessasteps
Except it’s been a big six for a few years now and they apparently vote together on a lot of these issues like changing the TV money split. Look how they are trying to keep Newcastle from elevating themselves into a big seven.
