ReiseReise Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 I would argue the Scottish League is even more competitive, more close finishes, twice as many champions. 1
odessasteps Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 (edited) It’s also interesting to look at some of the leagues down a level or two where often, a country gets one CL slot and that team can become a behemoth in that smaller league. like Qarabag winning 9/10 titles in the last decade. odessasteps Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Maybe people should not have penciled in England cruising to a 5th champions league spot next year.
Raziel Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 So, just paid attention to the League 2 table.. Wrexham wants to keep this show going, don't they?

Pete Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Way cool: Sela (Newcastle's usual shirt sponsor) donated their space to RNID and provided young deaf fans with special haptic shirts that vibrated with the crowd volume intensity at big match moments. Also, Burn signed "love the fans" after his goal. 2
odessasteps Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Guess we know who Pete has on ignore. worst own goal: Luton or Burnley? The Burnley one is just bad for the keeper.
The Natural Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Great weekend for Pete with Manchester City beating Luton Town 5-1, Liverpool 0-2 Crystal Palace and Arsenal 0-2 Aston Villa in the Premier League title race.
sabremike Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Jim Ross County: "BY GAWD THE HUNS ARE BROKEN IN HALF!!!" 1
SirSmUgly Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 I thought Barca/PSG was the right game to watch, and it's been wild, but it's got nothing on Dortmund and Atletico trading the aggregate lead back and forth.
odessasteps Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Who had Dortmund v PSG in the “weaker” semi final? not me
odessasteps Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 (edited) About that fifth Champions League spot .... Also, Madrid gonna Madrid. Edited April 17, 2024 by odessasteps
Pete Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Silva with the single worst PK since Yann Kermorgant in 2010. 1

Another Leicester City player missed a penalty from the same shootout but the team rightly consoled him and left Yann Kermorgant alone. I haven't seen Silva's yet but it must be bad getting that comparison. Sorry Manchester City lost, Pete. 1

Lunin literally didn't have to move. 1

The Natural Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 The FA and Premier League have reached an agreement which means FA Cup replays from the 2024-2025 season will not take place from the first round onwards. Bullshit that. 1
odessasteps Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 The whole scrapping replays in the FA Cup thing is not as clear cut as it appears. part of me does think the calendar is too overcrowded and settling matches with penalties is not that horrible. but it’s been done so the greedy teams at the top of the premier league can play lucrative friendlies or bloated champions league matches.
AxB Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 re: The Coefficient. If you're a regular big 4 team in the EPL, the last thing you want is another Champion's League spot for the league. It would threaten the monopoly. The Champion's League Big 4 are basically in a 4 horse race to win the league, the last thing any of them want is a fifth contender to worry about.
odessasteps Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Except it’s been a big six for a few years now and they apparently vote together on a lot of these issues like changing the TV money split. Look how they are trying to keep Newcastle from elevating themselves into a big seven.
The Natural Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 Good luck Sky Blue Sam for Coventry City vs. Manchester United in the FA Cup Semi-final today. Hope you're doing ok.
Pete Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 I guess you could say things in Blackburn have gone... pear-shaped.
